In the kingdom parables of the “Treasure in the Field” and the “Priceless Pearl,” Jesus simply says “The kingdom of heaven is like a man... or a pearl merchant who found...” and “sold everything” to obtain these 2 things, but doesn’t bother to define what the treasure is or what the pearl represents. I always assumed it was us finding Jesus. After all, He’s the King of the kingdom. But I heard an old teaching by John Wimber who taught that you and I were the treasure that Jesus left heaven and all His glory and suffered untold pain and death to come after us! After reflecting on this for some time, I’m convinced it’s both ways! He left all and spent all to redeem us and He asks us to leave all and sell out to follow Him! He is the treasure and you are His treasure! - Pastor Neil

Last November, I started a Sunday evening class on Rick Evans’ book, Healing the Orphan Heart. It’s one of the most impactful things I’ve done as a pastor! As we’ve worked through the book and workbook together as a group, I’ve watched people’s lives change before my very eyes! Rick understands why we feel alone in this world, how destructive self-fathering can be and what to do about it. Don’t miss this Conference! The truth will set you free! -Pastor Neil

Cost is $20/person, $35/couple or $45/family.

Contact the church at 937-399-9941 for more information.

In teaching/preaching through Ephesians this year, I stumbled across something that made what we call "the gospel" or "THE Good News" suddenly much bigger than I had ever realized. Right out of the gate, Paul declares in Chapter 1 verse 4 that "God (the Father) chose us in Christ" to be His adult children/heirs of all he is and has or "every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms (literally) "before the foundations of the universe were laid!" - Kenneth Wuest Translation.
Then in his commentary on this verse, Wuest says, "But wonder of wonders, this 'choice' was never actually made...God cannot be said... to "decide' on any course of action. That 'choice' (to create you and me) is as eternal as God is. God has had us in His heart for as long as He has been in existence."
In other words, the Eternal God does not come up with "time and space" types of new ideas. The "Genesis" of "the gospel" is that as long as God has been in existence, so have you and I in His mind and heart!
In fact, God has never needed anything! The mind blowing reality is that you and I are the only thing He didn't have that He's ever wanted!!! And so He made us to be His children, His eternal heirs and recipients of all He is and has! Mind blowing GOOD NEWS!!! Not convinced? Consider Psalm 103:17 "From EVERLASTING to EVERLASTING the Lord's love is with those who revere Him!" Pastor Neil

Recently I have discovered in preaching through Ephesians that we existed in the heart and mind of God in eternity past. As long as God has existed, so have you and I in His mind and heart and all of time is heading toward Him being with us and eternity is about God being eternally with us! We're His glorious inheritance! We're His end game! As I have recently read through John's Gospel, I have come across 2 passages that have added to my mind blowing discovery of our worth and importance to God: John 15:9 "As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you!" And John 17:23 "...You (Father) have loved them even as you have loved me!" The eternal Father loves us the same way He loves His eternal Son?! And the eternal Son loves us the way He loves His eternal Father?! How can this be? But Jesus said it is so, so it must be true!!! Pastor Neil

Graham Cooke begins his book, God Revealed, with these words: "I strongly believe that a major shift is coming in the Western Church. We are entering a time when the Church will stop explaining God and begin proclaiming His nature...and His Glory...He needs to be proclaimed and worshipped. He needs people who are going to shout out who He really is. In a world consumed by heartache, sin, pain and bad news, His Good News is the best news of all and Christians can offer the Good News of who God really is." That was written in 2003. I believe in the last year or so this prophetic word has begun to unfold in and through the Church. I know that a year ago this began to unfold in my own heart and I am forever changed! Pastor Neil

To know who you are in Christ and to understand the whole Gospel is to be set free in the deepest and most profound way! To know you are a true son or daughter of God who has been thoroughly redeemed and made "ther righteousness of God in Christ Jesus" (2 Corinthians 5:21) is liberating! No where in the New Testament, after the resurrection of Christ are we called "sinners!" We are always called "saints," because that is what we are! Holy Ones prepared for eternity in the presence and fellowship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Good News!!! Neil Haney

No New Years Resolutions, just walk in the victory you already have in Christ! Victory over sin has been dealt with by the Last Adam! In the garden, He accepted the Fathers will to drink the cup of all our sin for each of us for all time. Then He wrapped us up in Himself and took us to the cross, to the grave and to the other side of death in His resurrection! We have actually died to sin. (Romans 6) This doesn't mean we can't sin or don't ever sin, but it does mean we don't have to sin. (Romans 8) The way I have found new victory over nagging sins is to say, when presented with temptation: "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and that is not who I am! (2 Corinthians 5). It works! We died to sin! It is no longer our master! Praise His Name!!! - Neil

The Gospel is that Jesus as the Last Adam has undone the fall and has restored our identity (Read Ephesians 1-3) and is giving us the Kigdom of God on the earth (Read Matthew 28 and Mark 16)! When we come home to God in Christ we are met by our Father with the same welcome as the Prodigal Son! No reference to past sins and failure! We become the righteousness of God in Christ (Read 2 Cor. 5) - The robe. We are given authority in Christ - the family signet ring to be able to conduct family financial affairs! And we are given our Sonship back - the sandals only worn by members of the royal family! This is the Gospel! New Creations! The Righteousness of God in Christ! Walking in Kingdom authority in the Holy Spirit! Ambassadors inviting others to come back home and be reconciled to the Father who loves them!!! What a message!!! What Good News!!! - Neil
