DC/AC Data Center Conference took place this week at the ACL Live - Moody Theater. Attendees were there exchanging insights and experiences about enterprise data center strategies and life cycle management, such as site selection criteria, capacity and migration planning, lease negotiations, and cloud implementation.

Data Foundry was a conference contributor, and the Company’s CTO, Edward Henigin and Cameron Wynne, VP of Operations and Development both participated in dynamic panel discussions with other industry experts.

Edward spoke about the need for data center customers to understand that everything starts and stops with power. When choosing the location of your data center, customers should ensure there’s enough power that efficiently operates enterprise applications and infrastructure while allowing for additional room for growth.

Likewise – Cameron discussed a new trend for wholesale clients who are requiring more retail-level services, such as remote hands, ISP connectivity, and rack/stack.

The conference attendees were given a special opportunity to tour Data Foundry’s flagship data center, Texas 1.

Data Foundry was privileged to host the FCC chairman, Tom Wheeler for a tour at our Texas 1 data center in Austin, Texas. We were anxious to thank the Chairman for his courageous work in standing up to the monopolistic ISPs and leading the FCC to adopt new open Internet rules earlier this year. To our delight, the Chairman led off the meeting by thanking Data Foundry for its support in fighting for an open Internet for many years. http://www.datafoundry.com/blog/fcc-chairman-tom-wheeler-tours-data-foundrys-texas-1-discuss-open-internet/

Honored to have Congressman Pete Olson tour the Texas 1 Data Center

Congressman Pete Olson recently visited and toured Texas 1, our flagship data center in Austin TX. During the walk through, we discussed the importance of being Carrier Neutral with 18+ fiber networks in Texas and how that robust number of Internet carriers is not available today to consumers at their homes.

"Unfortunately, data breaches and hackers are a prevalent danger in today's global society," Rep. Pete Olson said. "As the threat continues to grow, it is reassuring to know that we have a company like Data Foundry right here in Texas. They protect industries from healthcare to energy by operating secure, carrier neutral data centers. Data Foundry even provides disaster recovery for businesses that lose data. Their services are vital in keeping information safe for US companies and helping spur our economy."

Selecting the right data center for disaster recovery readiness is a crucial and complex decision every company must make. Data Foundry understands the importance of these types of decisions. That’s why we have prepared a Hurricane Infographic that includes the 2015 hurricane predictions and other useful statistics, such as key factors in selecting the best data center for disaster recovery. What a year it has been at the Houston 2 construction site. Since breaking ground early in 2014, we’ve been making steady progress and are on track to have the data center open for customer tours in early 2015.
Our latest milestones are to get all of the electrical and mechanical gear installed to ready Houston 2 to be commissioned. This means our UPS’s, backup generators, computer room air handlers, and electrical switchgear are all in the process of being installed for testing.

Data Foundry is amazing. Technical support is top notch and responds ULTRA qiuckly to issues. I rarely have to call, I just email support and a ticket number and details response are quickly received. If you want a Data Center provider that will give you a headache free experience, this is the place. The Texas 1 facility in Austin is exceptionally well built. Go down and take a tour, you'll be moving your servers over in no time.

Top notch Data Center smack dab in the center of Americas safe zone when it comes to things like natural disasters that could cause serious problems for the average data center hosting your companies servers. But when I went on a tour of this facility a few weeks back I learned that unlike other data centers it was purpose built, from the ground up, to be a data center - meaning extra security for your servers if some freak storm or something did sweep through Austin.
