Agustin M. Delgado, Jr. is the proud owner of .M.A.D.esigns, .M.A.D. Costumes, .M.A.D. Accessories and DELGADO Creations. He is a self-taught up and coming designer and craftsman. He was born in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, to a family whose ethnicity includes Chichimeca Natives and Spanish descendants. Growing up in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, he developed an eye for fashion and design at an early age. Inspired by the women and men in his family, who designed and created hand-sewn, hand-tailored clothing.
At age eight he relocated to Washington State, where he was reunited with his mother. Her influence became his foundation for creativity in textiles, color and design.
At the age of thirteen as a Junior High student, Agustin looked forward to taking Home Economics. Anxious to learn the basics of sewing, he absorbed every bit of knowledge and technique possible. His teacher became his mentor and he stayed after school to get one-on-one lessons to master the basics in pattern making and fitting.
It wasn't until his freshman year of college that Agustin decided to enroll in a textiles and science art class. It was then that he decided to take everything he had learned about fashion and design and ratchet his skills to the next level. He designed for friends, acquaintances and clients as he began to build a personal and professional portfolio.
Now residing in Omaha, Nebraska, Agustin has joined forces with local artist Daniel Knobbe and together they have launched .D.K. (Delgado & Knobbe). Agustin has been designing for local entertainers and continues to build a clientele. His costume designs are showcased and featured at area night spots and have been highlighted in “Spirits of the Opera” for 3 consecutive years. Agustin is currently working on his fall collection.
Agustin’s inspirations come from a variety of artistic styles, historic eras and fashion elements from all over the world. He strongly believes that “one must understand the past to understand the future.” He endeavors to create art in the form of wearable garments that reflect the individual and unique personalities of his clients. He is convinced that the outer beauty of a person is a reflection of the beauty that lies within. It is Agustin's desire that, in addition to making beautiful clothing, he can inspire each client to be the best they can be.
