Nix packages of Open Dylan now available: http://opendylan.org/news/2014/05/28/nix-packages-available.html
Thanks to Chris Double for putting this together!
This will download the Open Dylan binaries and use that to bootstrap a build from source. Nix is a purely functional package manager. Thanks to everyone who showed up for the hack-a-thon!  We made a lot of progress, with work done on the Gtk binding, merging compiler runtimes, LLVM, regex docs, the sqlite3 binding, and the network library.

A few people who wanted to come couldn't make it for one reason or another, so we'll make sure to have a make-up session for them.  :-)

The general purpose programming language that sucks less!
Introduction
Dylan is an advanced, object-oriented, dynamic language which supports rapid program development. When needed, programs can be optimized for more efficient execution by supplying more type information to the compiler. Nearly all entities in Dylan (including functions, classes, and basic data types such as integers) are first class objects. Additionally Dylan supports multiple inheritance, polymorphism, multiple dispatch, keyword arguments, object introspection, macros, and many other advanced features...
