Interesting article on how Riot is trying to curb their apparently nasty user base.

Just finished listening to No Easy Day. The book was gripping, I definitely wanted to listen to it all the way through without stopping. I thought that the final raid wasn't as interesting as the rest of the book, mostly because I felt like I got a peak into an entirely different life.

The only big nitpick I have is that all of the accounts are when things went (pretty) well and how their training pulled them through a lot of tough situations. It left me with the impression that they never made really bad mistakes (shooting the wrong person, etc) which I find difficult to believe.

That being said, I can see why the author chose those particular missions, since they illustrated lessons they learned and he felt they could be written about safely. Overall I thought it was a great book.

Just finished listening to the Disappearing Spoon. Very cool book that talks a lot about the history, people and science of the elements. It seems like there is much more back stabbing than I would expect when a big prize is on the line. The one gripe I have about this book is chapter 10, where I feel like he goes on a tangent talking about experimental results of changing constants.

The guy that previously wrote "The Dry Valleys" a blog about visiting McMurdo station in Antarctica is doing a new one about going to the Russian station down there. Kind of cool to see pictures of such a remote place.

Would this count as a live performance by a band?
