We have experienced a first case of plagiarism in an Advanced Level written assignment. The assignment was more or less a copy of another assignment with a few modifications only. According to the exam regulations, the written assignment must be original work performed by the examination candidate (i.e. without help from others), using only the literature and tools stated in the reference section. Therefore the assignment has been awarded zero points and the candidate has failed the exam. Today we have added a clause to the AL exam regulations, that candidates who do plagiarism are excluded from all CPRE exams for 3 years!

You probably already heard about “crowdfunding”, but how about “crowdRE”? What’s hidden behind this crowd reveals Eduard C. Groen and Matthias Koch’s article "How Requirements Engineering can benefit from crowds".

Remember, issue 2016-03 of the RE Magazine has been published!

Is Requirements Engineering a profession? Is it a job title, a role or just a collection of techniques and methods? Andrea Herrmann and Marcel Weber present in their article what they found out about that question during a series of studies on job offers.

IREB and IIBA are working on a whitepaper to highlight how the CPRE education scheme and BABOK® Guide v3 fit together and complement each other. If you are an RE looking to transition to business analysis or a BA looking to advance your career in Requirements Engineering, you are encouraged to take a closer look at both the CPRE syllabus and BABOK® Guide v3.

Corrine Thomas and Albena Georgieva provide the second part of their article about NLP for Requirements Engineers. These are very interesting aspects of communication and concern how we transform things in our mind.
Read it in the RE Magazine at https://re-magazine.ireb.org/issues/2016-2-take-the-broader-view/nlp-for-requirements-engineers-part-2/
Unquestionably, being a good communicator helps in achieving greater impact and efficiency in the requirements…

Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering
Introduction

The International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) e.V. is supporting organisation of  the certification model “Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering”

The Board was founded by leading members of the Requirements Engineering scene from sciences, research, economy and consulting in 2006. In the meantime it became a worldwide recognized brains trust for the persons certification of specialists in Requirements Engineering.

IREB is very successful with its efforts to build up an international certification model. More than 9.000 people worldwide took part in the test for CPRE Foundation Level and over 7.000 people got the certificate. With the publication of the first Advanced Level Modules "Requirements Engineering & Consolidation" and "Requirements Modeling" the next step of the certification model was begun in 2011, further Advanced Level Modules will follow in 2012.
