Keyboard Maestro  -

Hmmm...
Having a minor issue with a KM routine I have set to go off repeatedly throughout the day:

In a nutshell, I want to have Reminders brought to the front for 6 seconds, then I want Reminders to be hidden.

It works, except for the last bit--hiding the app.
Can anyone see why?

OK, just quick and restarted Reminders, and now the macro runs properly. But I did check the log, and no mention of any failure or errors...

It might just be a random, machine hadn't been rebooted in a week kind of thing... I'll report back if I see it happen again. Thanks Peter.

Just listened to the ATR show with Greg Riccardi (again) ... does anyone know how to reach him? I tried Twitter, no word yet.

I have a punchline, need a good joke...

Well, I just locked myself out of my apt. on Christmas, currently sitting in the hallway. There has to be a joke here somewhere...

Problems and Questions  -

This might be an easy one, but...
I need to have the contents of a text file (which will change sporadically throughout the day) emailed to me every 2 hours.

The text file is my task list, and I'm open to suggestions if anyone has an app to use in place of using a text file. But the key is the ability to have the contents "boomerang" back at me, on a recurring basis.

Any thoughts on how best to achieve this?

IFTTT works on a trigger - which would be the change of the file.

I actually thought about this again and you might be best setting up an Automator action to be triggered by a calendar event that is every 2 hours. Though this will only work if you can have an always on Mac.

Questions & Tips  -

Hi guys...
So I shelled out for a new 11" 2013 MBA, after hearing about the battery life improvement. (I had a 2012 MBA)
Picked it up yesterday, and so far I'm a little nervous... 93% charge, and only "3:00 Remaining"

Looked around on the internet, and saw SMC reset recommended.

Still no dice.

All of the 2013 models had the Haswell chip, right?

+Russell Fabry Coincidently, I'm also interested in getting the 2013 MacBook Air. Strangely enough, after watching the Apple's Keynote about 2015 MacBook, this piqued my interest about MacBook Airs in general.

The 2013 MacBook Air offers good performance for the price and it can run Mavericks which I'm currently running at Home and Work.

Thanks for your message Russell and you to Phillip. All is well just a bit overextended with work and family responsibilities. Hope to see you all again soon and that you had a great summer! Jethro

Hello there from the US,

Just started volunteering at an inner city school, and the Macs are "under supported"...

At any rate, they've had a long running problem with host machines not being able to get back on the AD network after a reboot.

The solution they have is to leave the Macs on all of the time.

I have a feeling it doesn't need to be this way.
But I'm limited in my experience with enterprise level work.

Would anyone here have advice on where I should look first to solve this?

Thanks, hope so...

Russell
