We walked in recently to a 2 for one on all fish in the store. Now I know why. We purchased 20 Neon Tetras(A total of 40 as per the sale mentioned) and its been 3 days. My tank has ich and has killed 2 clown loaches, a Discus as well as 39 of the 40 Neon Tetras I purchased here. Their fish are sick and not well maintained. Don't let the huge beautiful tanks in the front of the store fool you.. Thats basically where the employees spend all their time maintaining rather than the product itself. They have a good selection of Tank Peripherals though.. Fish prices are ridiculously high and I don't see the pricing being justified with the quality of their specimen.

Amazing selection of fish and tanks. They let you feed the Koi in front! Staff was friendly and helpful and they usually have some great deals on fish and aquariums.

Nice salt water display tank in the front, don't let it fool you. I bought some tetras there about 3 days ago and now they're all dead along with most of the other fish I had in my tank. I had a healthy 36 gallon tank with an ecosystem and fish that were several years old in it. Not anymore. I would prefer to support a local business, but I'll never buy from here again.

If I could describe this store in one word, it would be NASTY. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is overwhelming humidity and the stench of dirty fish water and scum on the floor. If you can choke that down and move on, you will see some quite nice and well maintained saltwater displays. But that is where the "good" of this place ends. I walked into the tropical fish tanks and was appalled at how awful it was - the tanks were disgustingly dirty (algae, mulm, decaying plants, etc.) and most of the fish were very obviously sick - bolivian rams with ich, black skirt tetras with columnaris, saltwater fish with marine ich... there were no tanks that did not have either sick or dead fish in them. At first glance, their selection seems large, but it is a very poor selection of common fish you could get cheaper anywhere else. They also have no special selection as far as equipment/supplies goes - no ADA, Mr. Fish, Finnex, Seachem, etc. products that a specialty fish store really should have. Service was practically non existent. One fellow, leaning against the tanks, told me to let him know if I needed help and that was it. I walked out empty handed and nauseous. TL;DR: Dirty tanks, sick/dying/dead fish, overpriced, limited selection, poor service. Anyone who knows anything about the fishkeeping hobby, stay VERY far away from this place.

Best fish store in New Jersey hands down. the fish are always healthy and hearty; the products they sell are reliable and effective, the advice and knowledge the sales associates have are awesome and spot on. this is this only store i shop at for my aquariums needs because i trust them and that is really hard to find. Actually i dare you to experience what ive just said for yourself! Go and see what i mean. my number one sales associate is Quinn. He has assisted me in aquascaping live plants and his fish selection was right on the money. no dead fish (its been 2 years), no dead plants and water quality is spot on perfect! Thank you Trop, you are the best!!

I went there to buy t5s for my reef tank and when I got there the t5s looked like they had been ripped out of the box but according to them it was brand new when I got home and turned it on the blue bulbs were very VERY weak and the left fan was broken so overall very bad service and lying staff I would just go to Aquarium Care Center across the street to get it done the right way.

Worth the trip if you're nearby just to check out the show tanks. The koi pond is amazing and the large saltwater and cichlid displays are stunning. A lot of really cool tanks and the prices are very good for dry goods. I must say I haven't bought any fish so I can't comment but the selection and health/maintenance seemed average/slightly above average.

I have been in this store a few times and they have a beautiful display tank in the front of the store as you walk in. They have a lot of different tanks but some of them had obviously sick and dead or dying fish in them. I did purchase a yellow tang from this store that i am happy to say is still alive and healthy. Most of the staff in this store is very friendly and helpful but there is this one guy (short) who always seems to be very arrogant. Not a bad place to pick up your fish, fresh or saltwater, there are much worse places that you can go. ie. Petco or Petsmart
