In one important sense, the US Federal Government has already "Fallen" but it is not yet "Dead." For many decades, it has remained recursively trapped between pseudo-leadership determined within a closed-loop "Aristocracy" at one end and artificial life support via sheer "Bureaucracy" at the other. Repeated cycles and circuses of "Recriminations" (aka elections) drag our nation and us the people between those dead-ends year after year after year ....

The lifecycle curve at the link below is what I'm talking about. I don't think our government can or will find its own way out of this ongoing decline, and I think we're on the verge of breaking out to the downside when the debt bubble bursts, as it inevitably will. Only we the people can pull us back toward the "Prime" state of our Union on this lifecycle curve.

The problem is, I don't know how we can do that. More elections and 'changing it from the inside' clearly are not working. Does anyone have any serious ideas or suggestions beyond a rant or a bumper-sticker sound bite?

Philosophy tip for the day: many ideologies and philosophies roam the halls of academia, but neopositivist scientism runs the world.

Scientism is belief in the universal applicability of the scientific method and approach, and the view that empirical science constitutes the most "authoritative" worldview or the most valuable part of human learning - to the exclusion of other viewpoints.

Neopositivism (aka logical positivism) is a philosophy that holds to be meaningful only those propositions that can be analysed by the tools of logic into elementary propositions that are either tautological or are empirically verifiable. It therefore rejects metaphysics, theology, and sometimes ethics as meaningless.
