Banquise? Yuck. Compared to Decarie Hot Dog's poutine, everything else tastes like rocks dipped in yellow snow. Unmarked jars of spice sit behind the pot of sauce used to melt the perfect cheese over the perfect fries. The steamies will melt in your mouth, and the chefs are very friendly.

Went during lunch on a weekday. There were 3 people eating, no one requiring anything or ordering. They had 3 people behind the cash, and for some reason they treated my order as if I was in a rush. I ended up ordering 2 hotdogs, which he gave to me already pre-made. I ordered a poutine, the fries were undercooked and the sauce wasn't great (personal preference for the sauce). It also came with a drink, and they handed me a Coca Cola without asking. No napkins or fork in the bag. Very very disappointing experience, will never be going there again.

The previous reviewer got it all wrong. Seems like he took something personal. This in appearance ordinary fast food private restaurant is hiding something rare in the city. I would call them the Schwartz kind of fast food place. Because their fries are the old school kind. Sweet, melting and 'hand cut' style you cannot find anymore in Montreal elsewhere. Better than the fries served in the finest 'a la carte' restaurants. The poutine is tasty, the hod dogs are about regulars.

Food is ok, nothing exceptional. Price is very reasonable though, less than 6 bucks for a poutine - gravy, fries and cheese -. Service is awful, I was checking the menu - was my first time there - and a short lady asked me what I wanted, when I replied I was still checking she replied with a sarcastic comment 'take your time my friend, we are open until 1am'. The tall guy was not nice either, with a very unfriendly face and molested tone asked me if I wanted my hot dog all dressed, when I asked what all dressed meant he said ketchup and mayo, I said only mayo and it was the most tasteless hot dog ever, it happened that he didn't tell me about the other toppings, which I believe is coleslaw.

This little place is great. The guys working are always friendly and the food is just great. Very simple, cheap but delicious. Definitely worth a trip.

I grew up going here almost daily till I was ten. Family moved to ontario and finally got to go again when I was 18 during a visit and the old man still remembered me and proved it by giving me what I always ordered right down to the drink. I still to this day make it a point to go whenever I visit family. Best hot dog fries in the world.

Hot dogs were bland, buns were not toasted and cold, and the toppings tasted like they came from Costco-sized cans. There was no pop when you bite into the hot dog, no crunch from the bun, no oozing of juices and flavors. A 7-11 hot dog would have satisfied me more than a Decarie Hot Dog!!
