I almost wish I could go back and do my Ph.D. on the emergence and propagation of neologisms on the net, just so I could call my thesis "TL;DR".

Here is the premise: http://machineofdeath.net/about ... It's already been a book of short stories (with a second coming soon) and now there's this video submission from the machine's point of view. Fascinating.
A Machine of Death short film that just got sent to me, done from the POV of the machine! Quite well done, and I'm kinda in it. Or at least a dude with my name is in it, but all the pieces for him FIT.

There's a nice writeup on Ars Technica of a new AI program that learned to play Civilization, and then got better by "reading" the owner's manual. In fact it learns to interpret the manual in the way that makes its playing improve the most by choosing random textual interpretations and testing them via Monte Carlo simulation. Yeah, the manual helped it improve a lot, but random WSJ text improved it too... Time to go read the journal article and figure if this has any merit...

Really Google? I think you may have that suggestion wrong (http://i.imgur.com/rrZS9.png)... I am not the same as this guy (http://www.derekmonneryqs.com/). Oh wait, no, maybe we're good after all (http://i.imgur.com/ndRNo.png)!
