This is my second time at this Grand Hyatt on H Street. The rooms are simple - not really contemporary or fresh--a little dusty/stuffy feeling. Other than that, the service was good and the location is awesome. I originally demoted this hotel to three stars for the outrageous pricing on their breakfast menu. The restaurant has the same prices as room service, and though I've ordered dinner there and felt the prices were reasonable for the portions, the breakfast is a disappointing ripoff. We ordered three different plates, all of which were greasy and did not come with healthy side options. None of us finished the food (because of terrible taste) and the total bill for three for breakfast plus drip coffee was $70. The worst, most expensive food in all of DC. Be warned: breakfast elsewhere! UPDATE: I bumped them back up to 4 stars for excellent customer service. After complaining about the breakfast, the hotel offered a partial (satisfactory) refund. I do still hope they revisit their breakfast menu, though...

My sister and I stayed at the Grand Hyatt since she was to receive a business award in Washington. We arrived on her birthday, so I called in advance to arrange a bottle of wine and snacks delivered upon our check-in. During the check-in process we changed our room from one to another. The wine and snacks were never delivered to our room. I called and discovered they were delivered, but to the first room we had selected. They apolized and wanted to send them up, but we had other plans so Hyatt credited my account. Upon arriving to our room later that evening we were suprised to see the bottle of wine I had originally ordered and a apology note from In-Room Dining. We were very impressed with the professionalism that the Grand Hyatt addressed this. Our entire stay was a 5 star experience from friendly personnel to a great location. This a definate for our next visit to Washington DC.

Very disappointed with the service at this hotel last week. We paid a lot of money and had very poor service, beds in room were rock hard, indoor swimming pool was so cold you could not use it. I am a Gold Hyatt member and have never had such horrible service. Very disappointed!

I have no clue how this hotel could possibly be rated 5 stars. The rooms are not great. The service is not great. I have been here several times for conferences. There is nothing particularly fancy about this place, and several times, they've agreed to permit three of us to share a room, only to give us a hard time when we arrived at the hotel. Not recommended.

So when we first arrived the sheets had a hair in them. Big big big minus points. It's just a hair, so likely not that big of a deal in terms of cleanliness, but just disturbing. They had no other available rooms as there was a large conference that weekend. The manager apologized, and said unfortunately there was no housekeeping on duty during the night in order to change the sheets. He gave us sheets and said we could change them ourselves. Although I don't mind changing sheets myself, it is a hotel, and that is what you pay for. I was pretty irked, but didn't want it to ruin the trip. He comped us $50 in room service and I have to say the breakfast the next day was worth it and all ended well.

My girlfriend & I (both in manual wheelchairs) stayed at this hotel 6/22/2013 & 6/23/2013. We stayed in a wheelchair accessible king room with a roll-in shower. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and quick to check us in. When we got into the room I noticed it was open and accessible, but the bed was way too high for me to get into. I called the front desk and told them about it, then went out for a little while. When we came back, they had removed the frame from the bed, making it the perfect height for us! I was very happy with how fast they corrected the situation. As far as the room, and the hotel in general, It was very clean and well kept. The parking garage was very clean as well. I have already recommended this hotel to friends, and I WILL DEFINITELY be staying here next trip to DC!
