I'm really not taking care of google+ - keep forgetting to post. You know = still hanging out in that other social media portal. So -that last post on the therapeutic uses of poetry-reading is my gift for such neglect.

On the subway in the city yesterday and an announcement came on asking us to give our seats to elders, those with physical handicaps, and pregnant women. The recorded message went on to say that kindness and consideration is catchy and if we each begin it - it will spread. I smiled, imagining a world where pausing, opening our hearts to others, following the golden rule and practicing radical loving kindness - might one day reign. Let it be so in each moment of your weekend.

That's a great message and a great place to announce it.

Want a bit of quiet in a harried world? Author Alan Heathcock has found the solution — he reads a poem every morning, and he's found himself in love with the genre.

Thanks for reading, enjoying, and giving me feedback!

Curious about the ripple feature.....
Tobias Buckell originally shared:

Okay, the Google ripples thing is actually pretty neat! You can click on that arrow on the upper right hand corner of your Google Plus post to get the drop down arrow of extra menu items, choose ripples, and see how the post got shared around and who did it.

Do me a favor, reshare this and let's see how far it spreads. Should make for a neat ripple map to demonstrate what I mean.

Ripple... ripple... ripple...
