The place is nice, conveniently located off I-4 with the usual variety of chain restaurants and other businesses nearby. My room was clean, spacious and the wi-fi worked flawlessly. Check-in was quick and easy, staff was friendly and welcoming, and the price is certainly right. My only caveats: the Direct TV reception was spotty--in the middle of a show I was watching it switched to another channel and kept doing this throughout the show I was trying to watch (this was late at night, if that makes any difference). Also, I wish this Travelodge would follow the lead of others and pull up the carpeting, replacing it with wood floors. The carpet in my room was clean but terribly stained, and the carpet in the hallways is showing its age in spots. The eco- and health friendly trend is toward uncarpeted floors, and I'd like to see that happen here. Would I come back? I did--I spent one night there on my way to Mobile, another two nights on my return to Orlando. Would book this Travelodge again in a hot minute.

While taking in the Tigers last home spring training game, we stayed here. If you want a taste of Old Florida, stay at Travelodge in Lakeland. It is the old Travelodge architecture, yet beautifully maintained. However, Vicki and Donna on the front desk made our stay even better as they greeted my Wife and I as old friends when we arrived after a long drive from frozen Michigan. Complimentary breakfast was typical; bagels, cereal , muffins, etc. Coffee was good. They were even having an Easter egg hunt for the kids on Easter weekend. Great value.

I don't see how this place received any type of good review. It must have been under better management before I stayed there in Feb. 2015. I have never stayed at a place that would bring you a plunger for the toilet and expect you to unclog a toilet that was clogged before you even got into the room. Never again! I sent an e-mail to them about my bad experience but no one ever got back with me so I am encouraging people not to spend your money. Bad experience from the moment we checked in. I will spend whatever the other hotels are charging before I stay here again. I could have stayed at a much nicer place for what I payed here but ever place else was booked up. NEVER AGAIN! J.
