Yes, it was up there for a few days when they launched Angry Birds Space. I took this from my office before they put up the giant rubberband strap, but I'm sure there are lots of other pics on the interwebs.

Wait, what? Words fail me.

Syria holds vote on constitution

"Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu echoed this view at a news conference in Istanbul, asking: 'On one hand you say you are holding a referendum and on the other you are attacking with tank fire on civilian areas.'

'You still think the people will go to a referendum the next day in the same city?'"

A rare sight... I had visited Kerry Park once before and had no idea Mt. Rainier was in the background of its spectacular view.

Bad apples ruin some of the best things. :-(

I have great respect for the protesters who chanted "This is not helping" and the SPD who by all accounts handled themselves and the situation today extremely well.

Syria refugees tell of executions

"One woman told the BBC's Paul Wood on the outskirts of Homs that soldiers had slit the throat of her 12-year-old son on Friday - a day after rebel fighters withdrew from the Baba Amr district."

"...state TV reported [the district] had been 'sanitised' of 'armed terrorist groups'."

"My son's throat was cut," she said. "He was 12."

Her husband said he was hiding about 50m away and saw one soldier hold down their son's head with his boot while another killed him.

"I could hear their screams," he added.

Another woman said: "They took our husbands. They took them at a checkpoint. They will slaughter them like sheep."

Several men who said they had defected from an elite army unit last week told our correspondent that civilians were being targeted by security forces and prisoners were being killed.

"A lieutenant gave us the order," he said. "We were told in this operation: 'You shoot anything that moves. Civilian or military - you shoot at it.'"

Syrian troops advancing in Homs'

"[Syrian] security officials said the city's besieged district of Baba Amr would be 'cleaned' within the next few hours."

I clean my house. Syria is cleansing its people.

Ulatraviolet ("black light") LEDs! I could have a lot of fun with these.

Unlike fluorescent-tube black lights, I'm assuming these would be far more interesting as they should emit no visible purple light, but just illuminate UV-responsive materials.

Not even NASA can resist sound effects in space. Also, this landing mechanism makes me giddy.

I think this beats 90% of the sci-fi I have watched in the last year. Simply amazing. The guys getting to actively work on this project must be exuberant! All this video needs is a bit of music instead of space sounds and it would be perfect. /nerd
