Potential Meetup/Video Hangout games remaining
Looks like we have 3 early starts remaining for meetups or video hangouts.
Sunday, March 12th 11:30 start @ home vs. the Wild
Sunday, April 2nd 11:30 start @ home vs. Boston
Staurday, April 8th Final regular season game, 5 pm start @ La Kings

+Franklin C and I discussed a potential video hangout considering we haven't done one all season. We'll pick a date and let those interested know. If you've never joined one before, they are a lot of fun.

+Dan DeBord I'm looking at April 2nd or April 8th for a potential B-dubs game watching in Bourbonnais. We've only been talking about it for 3 years, need to make it happen! Do either of those dates work for you?

The rest of you talk amongst yourselves to get something organized in your neck of the city. Always enjoy seeing the photos/videos from the get-togethers.
One of these days I'll be able to road trip that far north to meet everyone!

17 games remaining
While this last dozen games or so have been amazing, and it's great to see the Hawks atop the Central Division again, it's highly unlikely they will stay there.
Minnesota still has 3 games in hand (20 remaining vs the Hawks 17), and by my estimations the Wild would have to play .500 hockey to lose the division to the Hawks. I don't believe that's going to happen.
The streaks have been piling up for the Hawks, 7 straight wins, 8 straight on the road and 12-1 in their last 13, but I also don't see that continuing. 10 of the next 17 games are on the road, and 8 of those are against top 10 teams in their respective conferences or teams fighting for a playoff spot. Plus, the last 2 are late west coast roadies against the Ducks and Kings. Injuries are starting to pile up, and I expect Q to start resting regulars soon or anyone even slightly dinged up. Look for some Rockford call ups soon, especially on a few of the remaining road trips.
While I'm not expecting a Wild collapse, the Hawks have an advantage in that they'll be playing 3 less games in the next 30 days. Minnesota has 3 back-to-backs left, the Hawks have 2. An advantage for Minnesota is that their last 4 games are against some of the worst teams in the league, so if it appears they have the division in hand, it'll be a resting opportunity for their regulars. It'll be imperative for the Hawks to keep the pressure on. Minnesota desperately wants that top spot, and if the Hawks stay within a couple of points it'll force them to play all out. Hopefully we can get a few spoiler wins against the Wild from the likes of Carolina, Colorado and Arizona down the stretch. Still, I'm predicting the Hawks will finish in second place in the Central with 110-112 points to Minnesota's 114+ points.
All that said, we should all be well aware of the Hawks' typical record closing out seasons (for the uninformed, not good). I'm not expecting that from this team. They are really clicking now, chemistry has been built on all 4 lines and they are playing as well or better than any Hawks roster down the stretch since the 2013 team. So, let's enjoy these last games going into the playoff run, get everyone healthy and as rested as possible and be ready to hoist the cup in June!
Let's go HAWKS!!!

If you're an avid podcast listener like me, then here's the one and only Hawks related cast you need.
Jaw Zawaski from 670 the Score and James Neveau from NBC 5 and The Athletic website cover everything Hawks related in an informative and fun manner. Most shows are around an hour long.
There are other Hawks podcasts out there, but this one is the best IMO.
Just open your favorite podcast player, Google Play Music or iTunes and search "Madhouse Hockey Podcast" and subscribe.

You're welcome...

I miss the Hawks and hockey so badly with this weird 5 day break that I'm actually watching Red Wings vs Blues on Wednesday Night Rivalry.
I think it's giving me hives...

Kicking back, relaxing and missing my Hawks peeps. It's been a crazy 4-5 months for me with this frustrating new job, family schedule and trying to start a contributing income side business. Ready to say screw it all for a while and get back in the community game. Hawks have been struggling here and there, but still lots of unrealized potential and always a cup contender. Very impressed with the rookies, and Crow seems to be coming back to his pre-appendectomy form. Hoping to be in the threads tomorrow and Saturday, both to witness Hawks wins!

P.S. I miss you guys!

The wife wanted this room (aka- the mancave) done for my birthday, and I just finished touching up the paint boo-boo's and cleaned my desk. All ready for birthday beers and a Hawks win! #blackhawks #nhl #mancave

Who's up? Pat and Eddie will be at B-Dubs in Bradley at 7 pm on Monday. Might be an early birthday present for me to be there, still have to work out some details but myself and a couple others should be able to attend.
