Extensive selection of craft beers on tap and gourmet food was not what i expected when i pulled up out front. The dining room is completely outside and furnished with nothing but old picnic tables. Food comes out in paper trays and the beer is served in plastic cups. I had several of the # 55's and the grim creeper burger. Never had to sign a waiver in order to get a hamburger before but it was labeled as the hottest burger in the world. The burger was awesome and the heat did not disappoint. All in all, this is a great little place and I will be back very soon.

This unassuming wild game hot dog joint + microbrewery always fits the bill when you're looking for a low key place to relax with good people. One of my favorite places to take out of towners so they get a feel for the unpretentious laid back charm of Houston. Also, the guy yelling your order "FOURTY TWO, FIFTEEN, THIRTYYY!!!!!" is hilarious entertainment. Yes, it's a longer wait for dogs, but don't you want them fresh?! Calm down and either or order an appy or enjoy the ping pong table and occasional outdoor movie they show while you wait. Pay slightly extra to buy a glass of beer here your first time and then when you bring it back you always get extra beer instead of drinking out of smaller plastic cups. I've tried all the hot dogs and loved them all, but I'll start making tasting notes - last night when comparing the duck foie gras to the buffalo the duck won hands down.

We each had a wild game dog on a pretzel bun (pheasant) and small sides of the potato salad and the cole slaw. It's all a little pricey, but it was damned good. We got there just as they opened for the day, so we weren't there when it was hoping, though I was surprised that it still took a little while to get our food. It's a cool little outdoor space, much like a Texas ice house. I can see why people say you MUST experience Moon Tower dogs.

Excellent beer selection and amazing brats. They also gave me free crawfish? This is one of those places where parents can drink while their kids/dogs run around. I guess that can be a plus or minus depending on who you are

Make sure you only pay cash at this bar. There is a large sign above the bar that says if you do not close your tab a $50 fee will be added. I went in on Friday, July 17th, 2015 and had a $50 tab, which I closed and left a tip for the good service. The problem is.... THEY STILL CHARGED ME $50! I am currently on hold with my bank to get this charge refunded, and I already tried calling Moon Tower, but apparently Evan is not a good enough manager/owner to take calls for his bar during the day. Sunday or not, your phone number is the number listed for the bar bro, so take some responsibility. It was easy for you to take my money, so you should be just as quick to settle up. I am never returning to this bar due to these shady business practices, and I encourage anyone else who visits this bar to not allow these tricksters to have access to your bank info, because they apparently will try to rob you blind even though you follow their ill-conceived policy. Do yourself a favor and go to a more honest bar if you really need craft beers and obscure food that badly.

Response from the owner - a month ago
Emmanuel, we're really sorry you couldn't reach us on the phone, The $50 is a pending fee that your bank holds, and releases when your actual charge goes through. This is a result of the card pre-authorization, which we certainly attempt to explain to everyone who opens a tab with us. If this was not properly explained to you on Friday night, our apologies. It is not money we ever see, nor will it ever leave your account. As far as the sign over the bar that says "$50 fee for walked tabs and bad attitudes", that's really just a joke. We've never charged anyone for either, and have seen our fair share of both. We guarantee the $50 pending will release. Sorry I/we didn't live up to your expectations bro. Have a good one Evan

I was not crazy about this place. There was a surly bartender that told us since it was two for one burger night it would be about an hour wait for our food. It was definitely longer than an hour for a sub par burger. And the place wasn't even that crowded. Not sure why you would have a two for one burger night if you don't have the space to cook it all.....but other than that it was okay.

Awesome awesome place but they definitely don't even want to be 5 stars, probably because that would count against their hipster street cred. The biggest dig on this place for me is they don't care to sell you another beer after your first. The line is always at least 15+ minutes long (not exaggerating) so basically order the food and beer you want and close your tab. Its too bad because they have maybe one of the best tap lists in the city. The hot dogs are served on pretzel buns (before they were cool) and sides are always hand made fresh. You can top them off with any of the their ingredients but I usually ask the bartender to top it off how he likes it. Honestly this place works best as just a lunch or dinner place rather than as a bar due to the line issue.

It is definitely a popular joint, especially for Dynamo fans, so if you want any of their food to try at your pleasure please get there early.. their lack of stocking their popular items and letting them run out very early in the day led to losing one start. It's all outdoors, and you order beer and food at the 'front' area, and the kitchen calls your number when the food is ready. I had a duck hot dog with foie gras according to the menu. They were out of the infamous dr. pepper onions and the deviled eggs, but I had the coleslaw. The coleslaw was so-so, nothing exciting about it. The hot dog was definitely delicious, no doubt about that, but as far as it tasting like duck and foie gras? It definitely did not. $7 is a steep price for something that, honestly, just tasted like a hot dog to me. I also had to wait 55 minutes for them to prep my plate. I tried to order a pimento cheese snack plate after that, and it's literally just.. bread and cheese slapped onto a plate. They said 10-20 minutes. 45 minutes later, I had to leave, so I cancelled my order and got a refund. The cashiers were very nice, and they even gave me 2 free beers on my next visit which might be the only reason I end up going back. Cool joint to hang out in on a nice day, plenty of shady spots to sit, and the black pepper ketchup was very good as was the dill relish. Overall, it's alright, but not really a 'go out of my way to go to' sort of joint. I wouldn't mind going back if someone else initiated at all, provided I get there early enough to try the things I wanted to try.
