The food was amazing, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was perfect. My wife has celiac so gluten free options are always something we look for, but are often not impressed with. They had plenty of gluten free options, the server was very helpful and knowledgeable about them which, again, is a rarity in our experience.

Let me start by saying - way better than I expected for a high-end Italian restaurant located on the sixth floor of Macy's. There are dedicated express elevators, a seating area not on the retail floor, a pretty decent bar and wine list, and bathrooms located in the restaurant area (again, so you don't need to cross the sales floor) - that again, are pretty clean and hygienic. There is a focused menu, with some decent choices, and the food is also pretty good. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and pleasantly surprising. This is a place you could get quality Italian, reasonably priced, with nice views of the NYC skyline, and be able to shop at Macy's right before, after or during, your dining experience.

Terrible service. Could not believe it. We had a party of 4 and the courses arrived at all different times. Dinner took over 1 hour and we left before dessert. Half an hour to get out wine. First courses arrived after main courses were tabled. Many different waiters but none cared to help. "Manager" was befuddled and un helpful. Never again.

I decided to take a little shopping break and try the restaurant at the Macey's on 34th. It's a very beautiful sun filled room. I was dining alone and was able to observe the staff and management closely. The level of service was on par with a typical Mobil 5 star restaurant. I overheard the front of the house manager gently enforcing and educating staff on service standards on the fly. The way he spoke to the staff indicated to me that Stella values the people working there and accorded them a certain level of respect. This showed in the way the staff imparted service to guest and the genuine care with which they regarded the restaurant. As for the food, I had started with the prosciutto di parma. The presentation was beautiful and atypical. It came with some olives and lavash. For my main course, I had the risotto ala carbonara. It was served with house made sausage and a poached egg in a sensible portion. The risotto was cooked just right, and the pecorino and poached egg mixed in well to provide a great flavor to the dish. It was a truly enjoyable lunch in a refined setting. I will be going back for drinks and I think I will use this place to entertain guests when they come to visit the city, as it's near where the trains come in.

Establishment continues to impress again and again. Thanksgiving meal was the best I have ever had (besides my grandma's). Save room for a chocolate chip cookie. Sit back and enjoy the views of the ESB.

Campbell our server made our Stella experience stellar. The food here is high end and fantastico! The desserts were magnificent .Oh . and the view of the Empire State building is quintessential New York City. Come by here after a day of shopping at my favorite store in the world Marcy's. I got to be a tourist in my own city.

The wait took forever. I ordered a stake, it took an hour, it was undercooked and cold. The service is terrible and the food is equally as bad
