Today, "It's Not Over" publishes in paperback, with a new afterword looking back on the year. A year ago, when it first published, I warned of "victory blindness" — chapter 1 — the dangerous illusion that we’d won, a "kind of bedtime story that tells us we’ve reached the promised land." I explained how victory blindness fed complacency while anti-LGBT forces weren't skipping a beat, figuring out new ways through trial and error to stop us from attaining rights and take away the rights we had gained. It was already happening then, but now, with North Carolina, Mississippi, Houston, Tennessee, a federal bill GOPers are pushing -- the First Amendment Defense Act -- and so much else, the ferocious backlash is in full force. The book looks at the obvious ways the backlash plays out, but also the hidden ways, including in Hollywood and popular culture. But it also offers hope and a plan, on how we win, and again, updated with a new afterword. Check it out on the website. And thanks to everyone who supported the book from day one!
