In business for 30 years, Boston's Nick's Comedy Stop has served as an essential venue for up-and-coming comedians, having hosted Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, and other notable jesters before their big breaks. The venue hosts shows twice a week, featuring hilarious headliners, emerging comics, and moments of silence for misunderstood punch lines.

Nick's is a great place to catch a good show for cheap. The atmosphere isn't anything special but the service is quick and during the show. Big names do come out and it's always a great laugh.

We were lucky enough to get a groupon for $15/each but I would've spent full price easily. The comedians were hilarious and we got great seats at a table near the stage. The show was quite long and worth teh money. Also, they have a cocktail waitress that takes your drink orders before the show starts and keeps you "hydrated" throughout all on a tab (without having to give a credit card). I was pleased with the comedians as well as the service.

I just had the most awful experience at Nick's and thought I'd share it with the world. I went to the club tonight (Thursday) only to exerience an empty crowd - there were exactly 6 people in total and 2 of those people left during one of the acts. I had been to Nick's multiple times before and had had a decent enough time - tonight was a different story. First of all the heat wasn't working - yes it was 20 degrees outside and the club wasn't any warmer. On top of that, halfway thru one of the sets, the bar tender came and "shushed" me and my brother who were interacting with the comedians onstage. Ok - if there are 6 people in the audience and no heat either the comedians need to be quick enough on their feet to be able to provide an interactive show or I should get my money back - not be "shushed" by the jerk bartender. I proceeded to try to speak to the bartender after the show about how disrespected I felt and he just blew me off, In fact, he suggested to the bouncer that my brother be "thrown down the stairs" = that is a factual threat .... um, hello, really?! I recommend skipping Nick's and going for the real experience at Improv Boston or Improv Asylum. Nick's sucks and aren't even worth the groupon/dealfind/eversave price you paid for a good laugh.

I was sadly disappointed at this place...NEVER AGAIN! The first two comedians were really funny but this place is just lousy. The stage was tacky the comedians had to actually climb onto it! The seating was terribly uncomfortable and way too crowded. The service was horrible there was only one waitress on the floor and she was at least 100 years old! I ended up walking out to 30 minutes felt like an eternity in this place. I would be embarrassed to run an establishment in such an unprofessional manner.

I have gone twice during Fall/Winter 2012 - both times were fun and I plan to go again! Sure, the decor isn't great, but the waitresss serves you pretty quickly, drinks are decent, and the comedians are funny. Being only 1 drink in, I laughed to the point of my face hurting both times. Isn't that what you go to a comedy club for? This place deserves better ratings than it gets. If you can't stand sitting in a folding chair for an hour, get there early enough to get seated at one of the many sofas at the sides of the room.

This is not the Nick's of past days. It's now remodeled as a dance club with folding chairs on the dance floor. No food, Drinks Outrageously Expensive, Headliner was ok but the room was so noisy that you missed a lot. Then they rush you out so the dancers can come in. We got cheep tickets on groupon but still not worth the money and wasting a night out.

The comedians for the evening were hilarious. Corey Rodrigues absolutely killed it and had the whole place roaring throughout his whole set. The drinks aren't super expensive compared to the area (theater district Boston). The prices were on par for that location of the city. Tickets were super cheap since I obtained them through a Groupon. I know they also have half-price tickets for college students and patrons with military ID's. Full price tickets are only $20, which isn't too steep considering their shows last around 2 hours. The service wasn't bad at all. The waitress came to us roughly 5 times throughout the evening, which was perfect timing to finish a drink then get another. Everyone was highly focused on the comedians this evening so noise from the bar in the back was not an issue at all. Overall, me and my gf had a blast and would certainly go back there in the future.

i felt like caddle being herded around, it was kinda cramped. the drinks were really high priced.that didnt stop everyone there from getting totally drunk, there were really obnoxious. the comedy was mediocure as well, everyone was talking and you couldn't enjoy the jokes even if they were funny-not recommended to waste your time
