Hi! My one month of sugar detox is almost over, two more days to go. I cannot wait to share with you my overall experience and thoughts about sugar free living. One thing, for sure, the final week was the one I felt rested when it came to my food choices. Oh, no there weren’t any loads of sugary processed foods, in case that’s how you imagined my final detox week. Frankly, I cannot say that my sugar-free journey was 100% pure. It had its flaws, and my will power is the only thing to blame, I guess. Like Rag’In’Bone sings in his song “Human”, “I’m only human after all…” In general, I am very happy that I went for this experiment, and that I had a chance to better understand the way my body works. More details about my one month sugar detox are coming in my next post.

Today, I am sharing with you one of the best recipes for healthy cookies, I’ve tried. Yes, I am being honest. These chewy oatmeal raisin cookies will definitely bring you a joy, without adding extra inches to your waist line. Well, if you watch your portion sizes, of course, and don’t forget to follow an active lifestyle 😉

These oatmeal cookies are rich in healthy fats, sunflower seeds and coconut oil. The sweetness comes from 2 tablespoons of raw honey and 1/2 cup of raisins. Feel free to replace the honey with the maple syrup or any other sweetener you like. Dried cranberries could substitute the raisins. Also, I’ve tried to bake these cookies by using the walnuts instead of the sunflower seeds, but, in my opinion, the cookies came out too fatty. My husband, on the other hand, loved them. So, decide for yourself which option to choose.
