Absinthe? Craft cocktails? Old school movies? Aerialists? Girls in fairy costumes serving absinthe? Why am I on my laptop now and not at the Edison? This was an old power plant, now renovated into one of the most successful and longest lasting bars and drinking holes in Downtown LA. The atmosphere is really chill, and the crowd tends to be a little older (30+). It's not very loud in here, so there's no need to bring earplugs. They also have a really cool smoking lounge with fountain on the top. I've never eaten at the restaurant here, but from what my friends tell me, it's really good, but very expensive. For any newbie in LA, go check this place out. It's a lot of fun!

Well i went there a couple months ago with my girls...we got ahead of the line and were really excited, but when we got was really quite wasnt as fun as we expected and then music was dreadful...all the men looked either metro-hollywood-sexual.

Fantastic customer service from the gentleman outside. We arrived late for our reservation and he was able to get us our table, Which was totally awesome! Definitely will be coming back. I recommend to try the mistress drink for the ladies. I loved it. The appetizers were also very delicious

There are many hidden gems within Downtown's LA smoggy skyline, but The Edison has to be one of the best. This is one of those places that someone needs to take you to because it is literally down a random dark alley. Once you step through the door you are immediately transported to another decade. You descend into the bar and slowly start to take in the scenery. There was some serious thought placed into every single detail. The bar is in the basement of LA's first power plant so they have this steampunk/twenties theme throughout. The bartenders are nice and attentive. They have a small dance floor but manages to fit a good amount of people on it. I always have a lot of fun and no matter who you bring with they will be memorized.

It's hard to find the words for the Edison. The Edison is an experience. I had been fantasizing about this place way before we actually set foot in the door. I went for my Birthday and had the best night ever! Our waitress, Skyler, was everything you hope for when you feel out of your element. She was so welcoming and informative. It didn't hurt that she was totally engaging and had a great smile!

Recently I visited this this place. The food and atmosphere were fine. I encountered a waitress who was accompanied by a trainee. Initially she took the order from my girlfriend who is Anglo-Saxon and completely ignored me, an African-American. When I asked a question, she responded as though I should already know the answer. Horrible experience
