One of the coolest places in LA. They have outstanding food and drinks. If you are coming with friends or a date you will enjoy yourself. The view overlooking the city very nice. Be prepared for a 10.00 dollars cover charge and the valet needs to be paid upfront. Reservations is highly recommend. This place does get busy after 10pm on the weekends. The show is outstanding. All around the service is first class. They make great drinks. This one the best places in DTLA to hang out. If you are a person who is local or a tourist it's a must to experience it. If you are coming here for a birthday party or to just to hang out you will love the vibe. Hands down one of the coolest places in town.

One of the coolest places in LA. They have live music in this themed out bar. This ol powerplant has the coolest decour and is super swanky. The crowd is very cool and not too pretentious and the 20's throw back theme is a blast. Go with a group of friend and enjoy the live entertainment/show they put on. A must see on an LA bar list!

The Edison is a bar in the basement of a building designed to sort of resemble a power factory set in the 20s. At the top of every hour there is some sort of show provided by the Edison. There is a small stage where burlesque dancers perform. Other times there are rope acrobats. It all depends on the night. Drinks are made with top shelf alcohol, which is a rare find in itself. The vibe is nice, and music is at just the right volume.

There are many hidden gems within Downtown's LA smoggy skyline, but The Edison has to be one of the best. This is one of those places that someone needs to take you to because it is literally down a random dark alley. Once you step through the door you are immediately transported to another decade. You descend into the bar and slowly start to take in the scenery. There was some serious thought placed into every single detail. The bar is in the basement of LA's first power plant so they have this steampunk/twenties theme throughout. The bartenders are nice and attentive. They have a small dance floor but manages to fit a good amount of people on it. I always have a lot of fun and no matter who you bring with they will be memorized.

my not-so-hidden-gem :) I celebrated my birthday here with my friends. Unfortunately my birthday is near Valentines day so there was a long line (mostly couples). We didn't get in til 12:30... thats what you get if you show up super late :/ We still had a lot of fun and the drinks were a hit or miss. LOVE: - Gorgeous Absinthe Fairy with her adorable cart - lil absinthe bottles!!!! - tons of places to take cool pictures - the silent films projected onto the wall - people dressed up in flapper themes - sexy 1920s decor Meh: - absinthe...not a huge black licorice fan and the flavor made it more funky - line - dance area isn't as big so it could get crowded Don't forget to look for the tiny room where they have a piano. If you don't know what you want, ask the bartender to make you something cool :D Best place to take people who are visiting from out of town :) or a girls night out

The drinks were good and the place is gorgeous. Service is just OK but the other factors more than make up for it

Absinthe? Craft cocktails? Old school movies? Aerialists? Girls in fairy costumes serving absinthe? Why am I on my laptop now and not at the Edison? This was an old power plant, now renovated into one of the most successful and longest lasting bars and drinking holes in Downtown LA. The atmosphere is really chill, and the crowd tends to be a little older (30+). It's not very loud in here, so there's no need to bring earplugs. They also have a really cool smoking lounge with fountain on the top. I've never eaten at the restaurant here, but from what my friends tell me, it's really good, but very expensive. For any newbie in LA, go check this place out. It's a lot of fun!

Amazeballs. Simply put, this is the coolest place in LA. The decor, the drinks, the people... I couldn't come here every day because I'd go broke, but I wish I could.
