Exciting news! Michael Smith, a former Colorado State University student and energy entrepreneur, has made a tremendous gift to the University!
The $13 million gift includes funds to expand the Natural Resources building and sets up 10 full-tuition scholarships in the Department of Geosciences. He is also contributing funds for scholarships in the Colleges of Natural Sciences and Business, and to the new stadium's Alumni Center.
We plan to break ground on the Michael Smith Natural Resources building expansion this fall. While the building will bear Michael Smith’s name, the extremely generous donations of Ed Warner, John and Dolores Goodier, Ying Lee, and others, along with contributions from CSU and student fees created a broad base of funding to enable us to move forward. We are deeply grateful to these individuals and to all those who have committed time, energy, and funding to move this dream to a reality.
