Former Army Officer Gives Back

Born in Lorain, Ohio, in 1956, Gerald M. Kochan has, during his 57 years, been a community volunteer, university student, commissioned Army officer, graduate student, foreign area officer, museum curator, historian, think tank director and film producer. Throughout his life, he has committed himself to the cause of service to his nation and his heritage.  He takes pride in bringing the wartime story of Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe, their contributions that had been downplayed because of political expediency.  The Yalta accords placed all of Eastern Europe under Soviet control.  The western allies complicity caused much of the Poles story to be hushed as it was an inconvenient reminder of a great U.S and British political error. Additionally, he has donated his time to various charitable endeavors that support veterans and the poor.
