If you were lucky enough to be at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, night you probably thought Kristin Chenoweth would be the highlight of the evening.

But about two-thirds of the way through, a randomly selected audience member joined her on stage and blew everyone away. http://kp.cc/13TPEH3

LAX, Dodger Stadium, Disneyland, Santa Monica Pier and the Staples Center. These were among the top ten Instagrammed locations in the world in 2012. Whether you're a tourist or a lifelong Angeleno, it's difficult to resist snapping a photo of those stunning shorelines and honest urban scenes.

With legislation seemingly stalled in the house, one research scholar from NYU has a provocative idea: Allow the undocumented to move to the U.S., provided they move to Detroit or any other city in need of more people and an economic boost. http://kp.cc/150SaVu

In a new study by researcher Dr. Hannes Schwandt, life satisfaction peaks at the average ages of 23 and 69. People become discontent mid-life because of disappointments at unfulfilled expectations. Often, young people are over-optimistic about their lives and become frustrated when reality proves to be less than ideal. However, when people get past these regrets and have lower expectations, people become more satisfied with their lives. http://kp.cc/1cky2oR

As a parent, it might be difficult not to praise your kids for everything they do, but researchers say constant praise is a bad thing. What do you think? Do parents praise their children too much? http://kp.cc/17O0JoJ

A large lot that has been empty for years on 1st Street and Broadway will soon be transformed into a federal courthouse. The new building will look a lot like a large, glass cube and include 24 courtrooms and 32 judicial chambers. http://kp.cc/14J6xlL

Although downtown Los Angeles is known for its adult nightlife, growing restaurant scene and loft-living, there's an even younger demographic that neighborhood leaders want to attract: kids. http://kp.cc/17tMZzc

A freeway map of Greater Los Angeles has been smartly re-conceptualized as a subway poster.

Designer Peter Dunn makes clean and stylish improvements to L.A.'s tangled rat-king of roadways by applying an understood aesthetic and navigational logic seen in subway systems. He explains the process on his website Stonebrown Design: http://kp.cc/1aXD8G3
