Spent this morning reading all 57 pages of the proposed "Hyperloop" design. As a concept, it has a lot of technical work already done. Personally, I have already noted 7 different design modifications that could potentially solve problems. I welcome any further discussions on this project!

How-to video on climbing the tallest antenna in North America. Pretty sure that no amount of money would convince me to do something like this, and that's saying alot considering I have cruised the ocean bottom and under the arctic ice cap...

Coral reefs around the world are disappearing at an alarming rate. Pollution, overfishing, coastal development and global warming are all culprits. In the waters near China, 80 percent of the coral...

Introduction
A long time ago, I was the Nick Barr that had been all over, done all sorts of things, and knew a ton of stuff.

Now...
Yeah, that's still me.

I grew up a US Navy brat, tried college, got bored, moved to Canada, got bored, moved back to the US, got bored, joined the Navy myself, spent 8 years working on submarines, most of that aboard the USS Jacksonville, and surprise, surprise: I got bored. Left the Navy, and have spent the almost 4 years since trying to figure out how to go forward when the rest of the world seems to only want to regress. And you guessed it: the civilian world is pretty boring too. If you see me, I am probably off trying to have a good time, usually by starting some mischief so that I'm not bored.

Latest updates:
1. Getting back to college one more time, hopefully finish it this time.
2. Moving forward with relationships that I feel are important and discarding those I dont need anymore.
3. Trying to decide just how far South I need to move to put Buffalo, NY winters behind me as a distant memory.

OH YEAH! Dary! Legendary! Nick Barr

I have been bringing my cars here for 3 years now, and everytime I am pleased with the customer service. They do complete inspections even if you are just in for an oil change, but they are never pushy with their recommendations. They make good observations about your driving needs, and get it when you say you do little things like air filters yourself. Overall, I highly recommend them, but be patient as they can get busy since they have such good service!

Tandoori's is perhaps the most authentic Indian cuisine in Buffalo. Throughout my travels while in the military, I enjoyed quite a few restaurants that maintained the integrity of the Indian culture in their cooking. Here in Buffalo, Tandoori's represents that same spirit. While they can be a tad pricey, they also replicate the taste and feel of eating Indian cuisine in much more exotic locals.
