Wow
Apple has just posted their 2012 Proxy Statement for investors. Within, we find that Apple’s CEO Tim Cook was awarded almost $400 million in 2011, while Steve Jobs was paid his $1 a year salary. Mr. Forstall’s annualized base salary was increased to $700,000 — from $600,000 in 2010 — to match the then-current base salaries of his peers on the executive team. Mr. Cue had a base salary of $444,000 during 2011, the lowest base salary out of the exec...

Pepsi Co., facing a lawsuit from a man who claims to have found a mouse in his Mountain Dew can, has an especially creative, if disgusting, defense: their soda would have dissolved a dead mouse before the man could have found it. An Illinois man sued Pepsi in 2009 after he claims he "spat out the soda to reveal a dead mouse," the Madison County Record reports. He claims he sent the mouse to Pepsi, which then "destroyed" the remains after he allow...

What a person can witness in one second is astonishing. The video above was compiled by Montblanc from entries in its "The Beauty of A Second" competition. It is one minute long and consists of 60 individual 1-second clips that, when put together, make for just an incredible viewing experience. There are a few rounds of this competition, and the winner will win a Mont Blanc chronograph. Click here for more details. (via HypeBeast)

It was fifteen years ago today that Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan gave his famous "irrational exuberance" speech, which suggested that U.S. equities were overvalued. Between then and now, on an annualized basis, the return on the U.S. stock market has been 5.55 percent. the return on the U.S. bond market has been 5.98 percent. Score that as one point for Alan.

Pretty accurate. . .
There’s a lot of psychology at play here. Lauren Rivera, examined hiring processes in three types of elite professional service firms: investment banks, law firms, and management consulting firms. “These types of firms share important similarities, allowing for a robust comparison.” Her results are fascinating. You have 10 seconds to make an impression – most resumes go straight to the trash: Because professionals balanced recruitment responsibil...
