Breaking News: Google Panda 4.1 is Rolling Out
Just minutes ago we've received word from Google that a significant Panda update has been rolling out over the past week & will continue into the next. The reason this is significant, is that according to Google most Panda updates are now happening about every month & rolled into the algorithm, but are no longer being announced.
So this is the first official announcement from Google of a Panda update in quite some time.
It remains to be seen whether we'll officially call this Panda 5.0.
[This is now being referred to as Panda 4.1] We're still waiting on word of how broad its affect has been & I'll keep you updated on that story...
Official announcement from Google's Pierre Far:Earlier this week, we started a slow rollout of an improved Panda algorithm, and we expect to have everything done sometime next week.Based on user (and webmaster!) feedback, we’ve been able to discover a few more signals to help Panda identify low-quality content more precisely. This results in a greater diversity of high-quality small- and medium-sized sites ranking higher, which is nice.Depending on the locale, around 3-5% of queries are affected. goo.gl/lof4sL
[SearchEngineLand is now referring to this as Panda update 4.1 instead of 5.0. For more on that see: Panda 4.1 — Google’s 27th Panda Update — Is Rolling Out, About that number... goo.gl/rL7smy
