I have been to Whole Foods stores across the country: Texas, California, Oregon, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida...I love the brand and I usually am very happy with their products and stores....BUT this has to be the WORST Whole Foods I have ever been to. Unfortunately for me my office is nearby and it is a convenient choice for vegetarian, gluten free lunch or dinner.... I don't mind the small size. that's OK. I do mind that their staff is downright surly and bark at customers. I do mind that when they are giving out free samples you have to fight your way through the staff who are pigging out on the free stuff. I do mind that the staff have no clue where their items are on the shelf. And I do mind that the deli staff is not interested in making a sandwich on gluten free bread even thought the gluten free bread is only 10 steps away from them. Their soup is lousy and their chef does not know how to flavor food. WORST whole foods in the country.

It is too small thanks to NJ "killing" property taxes... Compared to the same store in Maryland, it is more expensive - best examples are bananas, cheese and milk. Like in NYC they are "afraid of customers" thus posting cheese prices per 1/4 lb. It might be understood, as when revealing prices per the whole pound will cause suicide rate to go up very quickly beating all "Wall Street" estimates... There is a very small bakery with full of flies around during summer months. Nevertheless, some local breads are of good quality.

I've been to WF's in NY, MD, VA, CA and TX (state of origination). Yes this is one of the smaller stores in my experience and some of the employees aren't so friendly. As this is the closest WF's to where I live (Montclair) it seems that some of the employees are on guard because there is a good amount of customers who are demanding, rude and impatient. I decided to leave this review because the Shop Rite has a better overall rating and I I know that's not a fair/accurate comparison. WF's is more expensive than other stores. They are the only grocer I know that donates to local charities and schools. They also buy directly from growers to ensure fair market trade, i.e higher price at the register. They have women's small business training (and loans) so that women everywhere can be self reliant. They have the largest selection of organic produce and the store gets commercial produce from farmers who can't afford the organic certification process but are organic or very close to it. I shop here because my health is important to me. We are all struggling with something in our lives so I choose to give people and in this instance a store and its employees a little slack, the same amount that I would want from the people who know my short comings.

Even though this store is smaller than most other Whole Foods, they really do a great job of packing everything in. I just wish they could expand so they could have more prepared foods..

Of course I always enjoy a trip to Whole Foods, but this time was especially wonderful. Here I come trudging in from the rain like some big wet frazzled lady, searching for the ingredients I needed for tonight's dinner. I go through check out and I head home. Easy as pie. Lo and behold, when I get home, I realize that silly me has forgotten my entire recipe plan for the night! I run back and find the same register I'd been through 15 minutes before to find a different cashier. He had no idea what I was talking about but was so helpful and was able to find me my lost items without an issue! I wish I had gotten his name but maybe his manager will read this and be able to find who I am speaking of and reward him! Thank you mystery cashier kid!

First of all, whomever said that the location was incorrect is just wrong. I am in the parking lot sitting in my car and it is definitely here! Next, someone gave this place a one star rating because they are mad at the boss??? This is so silly... As far as the store it is just fine. It is a smaller store in a neighborhood environment, not in a mall. So the selection may not be as expansive, but otherwise I am very pleased.
