Cape Ann Whale Watch in Gloucester, Massachusetts provides guaranteed whale sightings for every whale watching tour out to Stellwagen Bank, a national marine preserve about 12 miles off the coast of Gloucester deemed one of the "Top 5 Whale Watching Destinations in the World" by the World Wildlife Fund due to the wide variety of whale species whom migrate to the coast of Gloucester, Massachusetts every year to feed on the abundant natural resources. We provide the best whale watching in New England as it's an awe-inspiring experience which every human being should have the opportunity to appreciate. We make it a very special event.

For over 35 years, Cape Ann Whale Watch has been dazzling whale watching enthusiasts with sightseeing tours aboard the largest, fastest and most elegant whale watching vessel in Massachusetts, north of Boston, Massachusetts aptly named "The Hurricane II" due to its immense size and speed as it descends upon its destination. Cape Ann Whale Watch's patrons have the opportunity to spend a lot more time with the whales than with other whale watching companies in Gloucester MA since "The Hurricane II" gets to the whales' feeding grounds with much more expediency as well as traveling home faster, therefore more time is actually spent observing whales including but not limited to Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Northern Right Whales, Pilot Whales, Northern Right Whales, Sperm Whales, Sei Whales, Blue Whales (The Largest Whales in the Seven Seas yet seldom seen around Gloucester MA), Fin Whales, Atlantic White Sided Dolphins, Harbor Porpoises and whole host of other fascinating marine creatures as we deliver the best whale watching excursion in Massachusetts.

"The Hurricane II" boasts 115 ft length with over 400 ft of whale watching room from the railings of the upper and lower observation decks for optimum whale watching conditions. There is a heated, furnished indoor cabin with a full service galley serving hot meals, snacks and cold beverages as well as a fully stocked bar with local brews, popular beer, wine and mixed drinks. Cape Ann Whale Watch is truly the finest whale watching tour in the Boston MA area offering the highest level of quality, comfort and service at the cheapest, most affordable price suitable for any family entertainment budget whether on vacation or a day trip. We offer AAA discounts on the adult tickets. We also offer reduced rates for seniors, children and military families.

We go where the whales go. Our vessels communicate with each other as to the location of whales so we will go anywhere to see them on the North Shore or South Shore of Massachusetts including off the coast of Boston, Massachusetts:  Salem MA, Newburyport, Cape Cod, Hampton NH, Rowley,  Rockport MA,  Danvers, Peabody, Swampscott, Revere, Winthrop or wherever else the whales may roam.

Best whale watch in Gloucester, Massachusetts. I've been on a ton of whale watching trips and Cape Ann Whale Watch has got it down pat! My kids were ecstatic seeing so many different types of whales. I think we saw a total of 10 whales but 4 different kinds. We saw Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Fin Whales and Right Whales. It was absolutely amazing to see the whales breaching out of the water and make a huge splash. It was like a different planet out there. Cape Ann Whale Watch has the best whale watching tour in Massachusetts and the coolest boat which has actually been shown in movies and used by Martin Scorsese in the film "Shutter Island" with Leonardo DiCaprio. This was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had!

I would highly recommend this whale watch. Besides seeing more whales & dolphins than we thought we'd see, the boat was very comfortable; the staff very professional and friendly. They even had a teaching component that was quite informative. It was a great day.

A great value for the time that was spent watching the whales. We purchased the groupon and the time the Captain and crew allowed our group to spend on the ocean whale watching was double for what we paid. The Naturalist were enthusiastic and passionate about their work. It was a pleasure to meet Owl and her calf (which we vote to name Hoot).

POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They cancelled our 8:30 a.m. whale watch on Wednesday August 29th, saying that they wanted to save fuel by consolidating their customers. They tried to push us on to the 1:30 p.m. tour with no regard for our schedule. To top it all, the arrogant front office woman at the office did not offer a single apology. It seems they could not care less about their customers. Don't waste your time with these jokers! The other big whale watch company in the area will give you a better deal.

We did not see anything... and the morning group neither... we toured for four hours seeing nothing in the middle of nowhere and the motor producing tons of carbon in the bay... the kids and I were really disapointed. They offer you a free ticket to come back, but when you know the morning group didn't see anything either, you don't want to lose another half day burning fuel in the middle of the ocean...

Beautiful experience. Cabin was nice and toasty on a chilly day. Staff was very friendly. The research staff on the boat was friendly and informative. Best of all, we saw several whales. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Great time! The crew on the boat was absolutely the best of all whale watches I had been on. Great sightings and a lot of fun. Thank you!

We had great time. The crew did a good job educating us about whales. We'd love to go again.
