Open since 9/9/09, Gemini Bistro is a contemporary, inviting bistro offering seasonal American cuisine with French and Mediterranean influences. Executive Chef Jason Paskewitz and Managing Partner Ryan O'Donnell are at the helm of this acclaimed neighborhood restaurant.

Named one of Chicago Magazine's "Best New Restaurants" of 2009, awarded 3 Stars from Chicago Tribune food critic Phil Vettel, and most recently the recipient of the coveted Michelin Bib-Gourmand distinction, Gemini Bistro truly is Lincoln Park’s "neighborhood gem."

Located in a classic flatiron building built in 1919, the surroundings offer a warm and relaxing environment with dark hardwood floors, tweed and leather booths, oversized drum lighting and reproduction Edison bulbs. The dining room seats 86 for dinner and the full-service, white marble bar seats 14, making it the perfect place to relax, enjoy dinner, or simply sip a glass of wine from the approachable and diverse wine list. Our beautiful sidewalk seating on tree-lined Dickens Avenue seats 40.

Chef Paskewitz has over a decade of experience creating delicious dishes in some of Chicago’s finest restaurants. A Queens, New York native and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Paskewitz's seasonal menu and nightly specials showcase his experience and talent in executing straightforward, flavorful classics.

Ryan O'Donnell, a graduate of the culinary program at Kendall College Chicago, spent ten years in the kitchen before shifting his focus to the dining room. As Managing Partner of Gemini Bistro, O'Donnell has literally seen his culinary school business plan titled "Gemini Bistro" become a reality, and has recently expanded his vision by opening Rustic House with Chef Paskewitz.

Yummy! Man, its been awhile since I have been here. Pros Delish food-short rib ravioli, mussels, steak frites, walleye special, YUM! Valet parking for $10. Booths Small, medium and large plates Easy open table reservations Cons Freezing cold booths because the windows...burr!!!! Mediocre Desserts-cookie sundae and pumpkin cheesecake were just OK Service-server was a little absent, but nice Price-its a little pricey, but the portions are huge comparatively to other restaurants of the same caliber.

The Gemini Bistro has accessible but creative fare across a wide culinary spectrum. Food may not be breathtaking every time, but the Gemini rarely disappoints. Service is friendly & the decor is pleasant. Definitely a good, reliable pick for dinner friendly for couples on a date, large groups, or even just a family dinner.

Choose from Small, Medium and Large plates so you can either share with tablemates or get your own dishes. The first time I was here our experience was just average, but coming back to sit outside in the summer is a lovely experience, they have a huge patio with cute lights and planters. The short rib ravioli is very good, and so are their brussell sprout side dish! The steak frites are also very good, as is the english pea risotto.

We went for restaurant week, most of our group ordered the deal, but I ordered off the menu. I got the ravioli for $16, which ended up only have 4 small ravioli on it! Being that I was still hungry, I ordered the tomato soup, which was soooo salty I couldn't finish it. I like to support local, but I will not be back.

Meh. Took the girlfriend here after some convincing on her end, and we were both severely underwhelmed. Her short ribs were dry and tasteless, and my steak was right around par. My cocktail was good (Velvet Old Fashioned), but if I'm paying $120 for two people to have dinner and a drink, I expect far, far more than Gemini offered.

I first discovered this gem when my sister was working here, I would always stop by after a show at the park West, Pauly one of the bartenders became one of my friends. The braised short rib ravioli and split pee risotto are amazing. I greatly enjoy the specials which change every week. They used to be known for their incredible desserts, as I mentioned my sister was their pastry chef, I'm not sure how they fare anymore.
