You can just reload, propel it and fly again. This is extremely important for revolutionizing access to space because as long as we continue to throw away rockets and space crafts, we will never truly have access to space.

~ Elon Musk, SpaceX, reveling the 7 persoon Dragon V2 spacecraft, 29 May 2014, http://n.pr/1kaGlZj

In spite of the opinions of certain narrow-minded people, who would shut up the human race upon this globe, as within some magic circle which it must never outstep, we shall one day travel to the moon, the planets, and the stars, with the same facility, rapidity, and certainty as we now make the voyage from Liverpool to New York!

~ Jules Verne, born this day 1828.

Flying in space is not lonely. The loneliest people that I've ever met live in the middle of cities.

~ Commander Chris Hadfield interview. http://bit.ly/1nOqZI0
Chris is perhaps the most extraordinary astronaut ever to go to space. He's brought space travel alive to all of us back here on earth, making it enjoyable and exciting again. Galileo Galilei born this day, 1564. The quote we know is a paraphrase of a translation from Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems (1632). One more complete translation is:

"For when the sun draws up some vapors here, or warms a plant there, it draws these and warms this as if it had nothing else to do. Even in ripening a bunch of grapes, or perhaps just a single grape, it applies itself so effectively that it could not do more even if the goal of all its affairs were just the ripening of this one grape."

My goal is to see a program that doesn’t deliver an astronaut limping to Mars.

~ John B. Charles, chief of the international science office of NASA’s human research programs. Regards health challenges in space. New York Times.
Swelled heads, atrophied legs, radiation threats — space takes a toll on the human body, and some health problems still elude doctors more than 50 years after the first spaceflight.

Star gazing, rocket riding & moon walking space quotes
Introduction
Reading, dreaming and thinking about crazy space ideas has already resulted in us driving a car on the Moon and sending probes flying out of our Solar System. My hope is a compendium of man's first-hand thoughts on the universe around us will inspire more exploration and understanding. You are welcome to help -- please add quotations, corrections and your thoughts on this page.
