I have never had the pleasure of dinning at the Frogstone but I would like to offer my support to them in regards to their stance in breastfeeding. While it is completely natural, discretion would be prudent. Why should ONE person make me feel uncomfortable while dining out ? My wife was ALWAYS discreet feeding our girls while in a public place. A little modesty goes along way.

If you are thinking of eating here, please consider the following taken straight from the company's own Facebook page and signed by Todd Pratt company owner "We want everyone who joins us to have a great meal in a comfortable atmosphere. What we don’t want is women that feel they need to bare it all while feeding their baby. They will be asked to cover themselves up. There is already one topless bar in town and council won’t approve another." It's sad that in 2015 some people still feel they have a right to objectify women and dictate with is and in not proper behavior. Not only is asking a nursing mother to cover up ILLEGAL it is also embarrassing, disrespectful, and rude. Please show support for all mothers, wives, daughters by avoiding this establishment.

The food isn't that great. It's too expensive for what they're really serving.

Absolute terrible experience. Staff are rude, owner is a douche. This is clearly not a family setting if a mother cannot feed her newborn child there. I HIGHLY recommend that everyone considers going elsewhere so you do not have to get treated so rudely by the staff and the ignorant owner.

never been there never will ...the owners own words "I was hoping this event would not have become as big an issue as it has, but not for the reasons most might think. Social media can do some wonderful things, and as we see more often lately, it can become judge, jury and executioner for people with a hidden agenda and those of us who are not interested in a rational evaluation of evidence. After many calls from a news station, several emails telling us what monsters we are, and numerous babies throwing bottles at our windows it is time to respond to this nonsense. This will be my first posting on Facebook, so very exciting. I have been missing so much. Is the story true and is it accurate? Not remotely. Is there an ulterior motive for the claims? This is the best question to ask. A restaurant asking a mother to cover up her baby sure sounds like a terrible story, but does it really make sense? Moms have been breast feeding their babies at the Frogstone since we opened 16 years ago. Maple Ridge is full of families and we have 3 kids of our own. We raised them in Maple Ridge and have lived here for 30 years. Our daughter recently had a baby and that little pumpkin has nursed in the restaurant many times. This has all been going on without incident until last week. We want everyone who joins us to have a great meal in a comfortable atmosphere. What we don’t want is women that feel they need to bare it all while feeding their baby. They will be asked to cover themselves up. There is already one topless bar in town and council won’t approve another. Todd Pratt Owner"

It's overly expensive and the portion sizes are small. Worse, they are clearly trying to pretend to be something they're not. Despite the way the menu describes it the food is not even that good, the meals we make at home have more flavour... making it even less worth the money.

The homely feel and great acceptance. I feel I was treated amazingly and everyone else around me as well. I highly recommend them.

Asking a mother to put a blanket over her child while eating on a hot day is despicable. The staff needs a training on respect for customers, tactful approaches, and women's rights. I would suggest you find a different place to eat, unless you want to nurse your child without a cover, then please, eat here and do your thing. :)
