Mariann Sjolander has been named Copley Team Hero of the month. Mariann is a radiologic technologist, our PACS administrator and an all-around "go-to" person. During her 10 years at Copley, she has obtained her certification in Mammography and CAT scan. As the PACS administrator, Mariann ensures all of the imaging is correct and secure for both patients and providers. CEO Art Mathisen commented that Mariann is one of those people that “always lifts other people up.” Congratulations, Mariann!

The VT Dept. of Health has issued a Hot Weather Advisory for this weekend and next week. Temperatures in the 90s are in the forecast, which means a heat index exceeding 100 degrees is possible. The risk for heat-related illness is high. Stay hydrated and check on your neighbors, particularly those that live alone or that do not have air conditioning.

Symptoms to watch for: Muscle cramps, heavy sweating, nausea, headache or light-headedness. Give the person fluids (water or a sports drink like Gatorade) and have them rest in a cooler place. If symptoms persist or get worse, or if the person seems confused or loses consciousness, dial 9-1-1 for immediate medical help.
