Ha! This made me laugh. I popped over from your comment on "10 reasons to marry a foreigner", or whatever that post was called. I commented there about 3 years ago, and subscribed to the comments. They have been GOLD. I'm a white chick married to a tall, dark and handsome Hong Kong man. It's glorious, his mother's cooking is delicious...and daily communication is always interesting, even though both of us are fluent in Chinese AND English. Welcome! haha
Please keep in mind this post is for comedic purposes only and expresses my opinions, which does not mean this is what I believe of every singe Mexican alive.  :) Here they are, let the count down begin! 5. You're out of the...

We just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. I wouldn't change a THING. Our kids are bi-lingual, and I love my life. :-) (If you scroll up through the comments on "10 reasons to marry a foreigner", you'll see my list from a few years ago. Grin)

Confetti cake for a birthday boy!
Today, I had some of my family over to celebrate my father's birthday. While preparing a dessert, I knew I had to keep it simple - the kids were underfoot, there were other things to be seen to, and multi-tasking doesn't usually lead to tastier desserts, if you know what I mean.

Tofu Fa (Tofu Pudding)
Sometime last year, I heard about a book called Asian Tofu, by Amy Nguyen. I wouldn't usually be excited about a book on tofu, but this book had something different - tofu fa. Since living in Hong Kong over a decade ago, I have been looking for a way to make this treat at home.

Baby Ying Ying: 11 Months
11 months. Where has the time gone?! These pictures were taken at the beginning of January, and already she has changed since then. At 11 months, she had 5 teeth, she was sleeping 6-9 hours at at stretch at night (generally from 10-3, and then from 4-7:30)....

The Desk, The Baby, And New Years
Remember how I mentioned I switched phones last weekend? Before I did that, I made sure to sync up my photos on my computer. There were about 50 photos that I hadn't had a chance to do anything with yet. So. In the interest of journaling (because, seriously...

Honey Whole Wheat Oatmeal Bread!
Mmmm. Fresh bread, warm from the oven. There is no better smell, right? I've been making bread for my family for about 5 years, but it was my sister who showed me a way to really kick it up a notch. Whenever we have leftover oatmeal after breakfast...it's bread day!

Baby Don't Like Shoes!
There we were. At an impasse. Just me, and the baby, and some bare little tootsies. Miss Ying Ying absolutely adores walking around, holding onto furniture. Or chairs. Or fingers. Or my knees. Whatever - she just prefers to be upright and mobile. Unfortunat...
