A.P. Dillon took a hickory switch to PolitifactNC this morning over their specious fact check of Lt. Gov. Dan Forest’s reaction to Gov. Cooper’s HB2 repeal/compromise idea. It’s a must-read, so if you haven’t already, just do it. ;) In keeping with the…

ICON Lecture Series is scheduled to bring Dr. Mike Adams to speak on “HOW US CAMPUSES INCUBATE AND ENFORCE CULTURAL MARXISM” on March 7.

Continuing their theme of bringing controversial speakers to the Orange County Venue (Event Center), ICON has introduced Mike Adams, PhD as their inaugural speaker for the 2017 speaking series.

Mike Adams is an equal opportunity critic of the politically correct and totalitarian positions that he encounters in his position as a faculty member at a major North Carolina University. His insights will give us a ground-level understanding of current Marxist academic control of student and faculty life and teaching. Among the issues he has discussed are safe spaces, trigger warnings, same-sex marriage, politically correct segregation, gun control, and Black Lives Matter.

Dr Adams earned his PHD from Mississippi State University in 1993, and is currently is professor of Sociology and Criminology at UNC, Wilmington. Although he had received numerous service awards and was named Professor of the Year for both 1998 and 2000, when he applied for promotion to full Professor in 2006, he was denied the position because of the nature of his outside writings in several public interest journals. Supported by the Alliance Defending Freedom, he filed a lawsuit that was not resolved until 2014, when the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit found that UNCW had illegally retaliated against Adams because of his conservative views. The court ordered full restitution. Since then, he has continued in a stellar research and teaching capacity at UNCW. Some of the classes he currently teaches include Introduction to Criminal Justice, Law of Evidence, First Amendment and Crime, and Criminal Procedure.
