just finished reading the article. I cant think of a particular item that i could consider as my 'gear', but since a was very young i had a very strong attraction to maps. i would pour over them and imagine what each road looked like. i was very good at directions, even as a kindergartner, and finding my way was never a problem, rather it was something i immensely enjoyed. nowadays, i find that i also use this for things other than navigating,

with maps, you knew where you were, where you wanted to go, and the fun part was figuring out how to get there. the fastest way, the most interesting, etc. so in life, i found that i have also applied this thought process. when faced with a problem or a challenge, i tend to analyse where i am and what i need to get accomplished, then 'map' out the best way to get there.

The Google+ "Send feedback" (lower right) is insanely awesome, such a great tool, someone needs to build this into a service for all sites.
