Been there twice ordered the mushrooms = great! A Jack Stack sandwich = Awesome! A couple of beers along with cheesey corn = perfection. The staff, service, food and atmosphere is great. No issues with anything at all. Then ordered the combo platter on the next visit again awesome! Definitely worth the stop for some great BBQ!

Don't do it. While visiting KC for the weekend, stopped by for lunch for our first taste of KC BBQ and left extremely disappointed. I had the jackstack sandwich with sliced brisket and pork; the brisket was dry, and both meats were very bland and just had no flavor. My wife had the burnt end sandwich; it was very dry and had nothing resembling anything burnt, smoky, crispy, or flavorful about it. It seemed like chopped up bits of the same bland meat that I had on my sandwich. The fries are fine, nothing special, and were improved by the fry seasoning on the table, which was not all that great, but it was nice to have something with any flavor on my plate. My wife had the baked beans side, which was actually good. They have two BBQ sauces, a normal and a spicy; the normal tasted fine, while the spicy attempted to have some good flavors, but was overpowered by too much tomato paste.

I was disappointed. The service was terrible. We sat at our table for over 5 min without a waiter coming by. 2 other tables that were seated afterwards had already placed and received drink orders. I finally gave up hope and went and found someone myself. The Mgr did do her best to make it right but the experience just left a bad taste in our mouths. The food was good but it's not worth the drive for us as there are better places along the way. Doubt we'll be back. Food ☆☆☆ service ☆

I ordered the Burnt Ends sandwich with coleslaw and baked beans. I was impressed with the decor. It was kind of like Wolfgang Puck BBQ. I saw some very good looking steaks going by to hungry patrons and the service was great but the burnt end sandwich looked and tasted like the carving board scrap sandwich. I am in the meat business and have competed and won in BBQ competition state wide. Burnt ends are the pearl in the oyster of BBQ. You get very little in the process and they are the most tender and BURNT. There were no burnt pieces in my burnt end sandwich. It looked like a bunch of carving station scraps chopped finely and re-named. The coleslaw was very basic like I get at the grocery deli and the BBQ sauce resembled tomato sauce stacked with chili powder. Beans were good except for the amount of the BBQ sauce in them. My escort had a two meat sandwich that was very good. We both had a cocktail and the evening with tip was just at $60. Maybe a finer cut would have been been closer to the on line hype, but to a burnt end aficionado this was $6 take out sandwich. If you were out of burnt ends, you should have said so or learn what burnt ends really are.

Great BBQ, great sides, great service! We visited for lunch and started with the mushrooms. Perfecto! Very large mushrooms battered with a thin crispy crust. Exceptional! Laurie had the Crown Prime Lunch and I had a combo with burnt ends and spare ribs. Best beef we've had in some time it was rich and beefy and and moist and very tender. Everything you hope for but rarely get. And the pork ribs were great! The signature baked beans and cole slaw were good and the broccoli was tender crisp and finished with a light Parmesan garlic butter. We tried the carrot cake for dessert but I think it was over-hyped. It didn't have enough icing for my taste... Service was friendly and well-paced...

Greatest restaurant on planet earth. I live in St. Louis and one night me and my wife were trying to decide what to do for dinner. I told her to hop in the car and I'd surprise her. ....5 hours later we were ordering our amazing food at Jack Stacks. Worth every mile of the drive.

Be prepared to wait about 45 minutes for a table. Service was only okay. Waitress that brought out our food was put out that she had to bring me a side of bbq sauce for my chicken as she all but growled at me when I said yes I would like bbq sauce after she asked if we wanted some!

This BBQ restaurant is excellent! The food and atmosphere are both top notch. It's definitely pinky out dining. You might feel underdressed if you show up in jeans and t-shirt, especially in the evening. I'll surely be visiting again on my next Kansas City trip.
