A young girl who was successfully treated at Children’s started a toy drive this year to bring Holiday cheer to other patients. The drive provided more than 1,000 toys. It is wonderful to see how philanthropy spreads, and brings joy to so many people. The entire staff at Children’s is grateful and hopes that everyone will have a Healthy and Happy New Year.

The 10th annual “Christmas is for Children Radiothon” was a great success.
This year’s two-day live broadcast, which is based inside the hospital at our Seacrest Studio, raised over $1 million in support of research and clinical programs at Children’s Medical Center. We are extremely grateful for our partnership with CBS radio, led by Jody Dean at KLUV 98.7 FM and El Chiquilín at La Grande 107.5 FM, and we’re overwhelmed by the generous support provided by listeners and corporate sponsors. Our mission is to make life better for every child that comes through our doors, and that goal isn’t possible without donations and events such as this.

Everyone at Children's Medical Center is dedicated to improving the health and lives of our young patients and their families. This heart-warming video of a little girl preparing for a ballet recital after having a successful heart surgery exemplifies what we stand for.

Children’s Cancer Fund announced some exciting changes for this year’s annual 2016 gala. This event is such an important part of raising funds that help change the lives of pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Giora Barker, a Gala event co-chair, introduced her son Jack Barker, who was diagnosed with T-cell ALL leukemia in 2009, two weeks before his 12th birthday. Jack is now 18 years old and in his senior year at Jesuit College Prep in Dallas. Jack gave a heartwarming speech sharing his experience with cancer and how the Children’s Cancer Fund gave him hope at a time when he most needed it.

A ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the opening of Children's Health's newest pediatric facility. Our health system operates comprehensive pediatric hospitals and specialty clinics in Dallas and in Plano, as well as 19 primary care pediatric facilities across North Texas. The new Prosper site is now the northernmost location in the region. A 20th facility is scheduled to open in DeSoto soon.
