http://yhoo.it/uCNCuH End of an Era for the Ford Ranger, Minnesota's own built compact pickup truck. Sold more then the Mustang this year, but guess who got axed?

My parents own one of the last Rangers (a 2011) and when we went to buy both Rangers I've owned they were on a back lot and the Dealer was reluctant to show it to us, all they wanted to sell us was an F150.

Ford has been trying to kill off the Ranger for years just as they did with the Taurus in the late 1990's. They finally "succeeded" and in spite of rising fuel costs they've brainwashed more people into buying gas guzzlers then something more sensible. Good Job Ford, you screwed up again!

I don't think it takes much brain washing. In fact, I prefer to refer to the masses of people who buy large trucks as the unwashed masses. I love seeing these people tooling around town in a gigantic F350 because they have a frame over the bed and a couple of ladders. Really? Seriously?

You probably understand my frustration, but for reference for those who don't, a manager of mine at EDS competed in rodeos. He had a late 80s early 90s F150. With that he towed a horse trailer with 3 horses in it without any trouble. No giant elephant mirrors, no child bearing hips. None of the shit that people are literally buying just for tooling around the metro area.

Now you probably wouldn't want to tow a horse trailer and three horses in a Ranger. But I think people tend to overestimate what their hauling needs are. Or underestimate what can be done with a Ranger. Or both. A little pickup like a Ranger has a surprising amount of towing capacity.

So I'm experimenting with this elite little thing called Google Plus. I doubt I have time to update it, I barely have time to do twitter these days; but we'll see what happens

Haven't updated this in ages. Well lets see... whats new. Hmm. Well biggest news is there is hope the job is stabilizing, and to celebrate; I bought a boat. I had the money in savings and as good as my little old Lund was to me- it was time for an upgrade. I think ten years is a good run :)

Pics of the boat soon. It's a 16' deep fiberglass tri-hull runabout. Its a lot of money spent (for me anyways), but if this lasts me another 10 years I'll more then make up for my investment. Less oainful when my old boat gets sold...

Also its going to be 70s today on March 14th. Amazing. I'm going back to River Falls to flyfish for trout and take advantage of WIs catch and release pre-season as soon as I'm done with work and lunch! Never thought Id be fishing this early. Winter is dead. Long hail Spring!

Last time out trout fishing this past Sunday. Caught 5 trout, which is not bad at all considering how picky the little bastards are. Time to put the trout rods away, and start scheming new patterns to trick picky trout for next year

Just a guy who's trying to find his place in life. Also a devout gamer and Angler.
Introduction
I'm 29, live in Minnesota.  I am passionate about fishing and spend as much time during the warmer time of the year enjoying the outdoors and wetting a line as possible.

In the winter, I switch over to being a devout gamer of Miniatures and Board/Card games.  I'm also a little bit of a sci-fi nerd and Trekkie.

I enjoy helping out and being a part of things, so I dedicate a good portion of my free time volunteering to help run and participate in a number of social interest groups and conventions.  I try to keep myself busy.
