Found this hands on breakdown of the Project Tango device. Thank you Omar. This is a great getting started page which explains the components of the Tango Device.

My attempt with self-portrait in my garage studio set-up.

I have been working on the specifications for a app for the Radiator Manufacture I work for, that leverages the unique assets of a mobile phone by using the camera for a search input. By taking a picture of a radiator (in or out of car) the app will find its replacement radiator part and if no part is found produce a wire frame of the radiator for a custom replacement. I was looking to use openCV but I think that Project Tango would work very well for my project. In fact with the Tango project, I believe, I could expand on the original idea in to mapping the empty space where a radiator would be in the car and with my SVG’s of component parts and our company custom CAD drawings library of every variation of radiator configuration and size, it should be possible to produce a instant 3D drawing of a radiator replacement, then insert the replacement in the car space that the image mapping was just taken of.  Then the customer could review the new radiator in place and get a instant determination if the new part will work for his configuration. By what I have seen so far I believe that the Tango Project would work, any constructive thoughts would be helpful.
