Must get the Cassola - definitely the highlight of the meal. The banquet style (choose any 5 dishes) is excellent value - the servings are huge. I would recommend sticking with the seafood over the the other dishes. The seafood is generous and always fresh - YUM!

I've eaten at restaurants in many countries including Greece, Egypt, Morocco etc. This restaurant is simply the best in the area which brings tastes of these foreign cuisines. There are good competitors in Half Moon Bay but they tend to be more Eurocentric. Whenever I recommend a local eatery, my number one choice is Cafe Gibraltar followed by ......

The Entrecote al Cabrales (Medallions of filet mignon) was absolutely delicious if you love caramelized onions and blue cheese. We started with the Mezza Platter, which should have been shared among 3-4 people as an appetizer (they say 2 or more). Our particular waiter was outstanding - always there for service but never hovering. Our only annoyance was the mono-speaker right above us in the back corner of the room that sounded a bit like a 70s cop show on an old TV. Great place overall.

In a word - YUMMY! The favors awaken your taste buds and then meld into mouth watering goodness. Jose Luis Ugalde, the chef/owner, has many years of experience in the culinary arts. Every dish is is a treat of different flavors carefully brought together by a master chef. The portions are comfortably sized. Can't choose - do the tasting menu. The food is quite affordable and the eclectic wine list is chosen with care to pair well with the food. Make everyday a special occasion and visit Cafe Gibraltar. The best kept secret of the coastside.

Yummie - I couldn't agree more with all the other reviews and I am super grateful to our friend Brian who recommended this place. We had a fantastic dinner here, from start to finish, we enjoyed Ahi Tuna, Calamari (really good! and I am very picky with calamari), followed by boar and pheasant dishes, that were excellent. The only thing that I prefer differently are the churros, as I like them plain, but with a pot of thick, gooey chocolate, like I know it from Spain. These ones are still great and have a lovely caramel taste, similar to the churros rellenos I got to know in Argentina. So I would order them again and again...

The meditterranean fusion menus are always changing and always outstanding. The food is expertly prepared, balanced, interesting and plenty. My wife and I go there as often as possible - which is never enough!
