Ramsey Park is a pleasant city park right in the middle of Austin near 45th street. With wide open grassy areas, tennis and basketball courts, and a small pavilion that occasionally hosts performances of neighborhood theater or music, it's a great place to take the kids for some quality time outdoors.

Wow...so color me surprise! I usually do not frequent neighborhood pools...the dirty, rude, and usually unattended kids...if I wanted this sort of CDC exposure I'd watch Outbreak and/or visit Atlanta. But, to my surprise...this free community pool was actually bearable, dare I say, enjoyable? They have semi-decent/clean changing facilities/bathrooms, a freshwater shower, AND a roped-off-from-the-masses swim lane! There are two lifeguards on duty and every so often they clear the pool for 5mins. The deep end is an enjoyable 8ft w/a separated @5ft mark "kiddie pool"! If you live or are visiting the neighborhood (as I was), check out this rarest of Austin Public Swimming Gems!

This is a great neighborhood park. It has 2 playscapes, one for bigger kids and one for smaller kids. There is ample shade for those hot summer days. There are also 2 sets of swings, one set is for toddlers. One one the unique things about this park is a very large slide. It is probably the tallest slide in Austin, so it's a lot of fun. There is a basketball court, tennis courts, and restrooms. There is even a small stage for out door performances. There is a small public pool that opens in summer. The pool doesn't have a slide or diving boards but it looks good to cool off in or do some laps.
