Best haircut I've had in many years. I've been going to one of those other "salons" that offer $15 cuts. I'm on a very tight budget and that was all I could afford. First of all, they washed my hair (so relaxing!). Rachel was my student stylist, and Katie was the Learning Leader who supervised, and she demonstrated some techniques for Rachel. Between the two of them they really took their time to give me a precision cut, and then they blow-dried and styled my hair. I left there feeling like a queen. I had a yelp voucher, so this luxurious (to me) experience only cost me $10. I have already made an appointment to see Rachel again in 8 weeks. Thank you, Rachel and Katie...I love my hair!

I will say your experience defiantly depends on who you have doing your hair and what they're doing, however I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here for hair dying. I called the place and they told me on the phone that I could have it the color I requested, which was an ash blonde ( somewhere around there..I had pictures and I showed them, which they replied saying they could do it ). The color they left me with, the "blonde" I now have in my hair is more of a brassy, honey brown tone, which was the color I told them I wanted to avoid the most. They had two women working on my hair. One of the female students made one side of my hair lighter and the other female didn't apply much of the product on my ends, making it very dark. Also to add to it, the female student who didn't apply much product on my hair ( when I asked her to repeatedly ) would often leave and wasn't paying much attention to the bleach on my hair. They also had an instructor or teacher with them during the whole process. The instructor kept on telling me I can't go lighter, not as in it's not possible, but rather persuading me to stay with the brassy color I had when I told her over and over I wanted to go lighter, knowing the risks she told me I'd have. My hair is naturally curly 3c-4a curls and hadn't been chemically processed before. I also told them I wanted an ombre effect on my roots, which they failed to achieve as well. My roots looked as if I had once dyed my whole head and allowed it to grow out halfway. And when the two woman straightened my hair, they didn't get my roots and my hair was still damp in some areas. At the end I didn't like it at all and had asked if something could be done, but nothing. I couldn't get my money back or anything after paying around $80 total for a horrible experience.

I love this place. The staff is so friendly, and will answer any questions you have on products. I recommend Miranda, she's awesome! I've gone back to her 3 times already. She takes her time and really knows what she's doing.

Today was my third visit to the Paul Mitchell School! I must confess, I absolutely love people watching, especially at this school while getting my hair done! The people are vibrant and fun and there is so much energy! Everyone is learning together, laughing together and having a good time. The last two times I have been there a young lady named Journee helped me, I'm going back to see her/get more highlights again soon. She did a bayalgae on my hair first and then a conditioning treatment today. My hair has never looked/felt better! Will continue to go there and recommend people to go as well! =)

I bought the groupon. First, the student stylist (who was being improperly supervised) ruined my hair with an incredibly blotchy single-color dye job. Then, the manager asked me to pay an extra $20 to cover the cost of the extra dye used to ruin my hair. That's only the half of it though! The supervisor/teacher offered to re-dye it the next day (because she felt bad ash hadn't supervised my student stylist properly). I came in and expected them to simply use single process again because I had chosen a very dark color. Instead, without informing me first, they applied bleach to my hair to strip it of all color, essentially obligating me to dyeing my hair until it grows out entirely. My advice--- this place may be OK for a haircut that can grow out quickly but don't allow them to dye your hair. Don't trust their students OR their teachers after what happened to me. Do yourself a favor and buy a slightly more expensive groupon! It's worth it in the long run.
