If there is one place Linux belongs is in the cloud and the backbone of a PaaS.

To me the article is more about what form an OS should take in the cloud. We obviously need something to sit on top of hardware but what else?

Cloud computing has been designed to run on software that was written for another era of computing. Do the choices
made in Linux over the last 20 years still apply? Linux is still supporting I/O algorithms that are decades old.
