Many years ago Jane trekked the Himalayas in Nepal - it was magical and a life changing experience.

One of her most abiding memories was the extreme poverty she witnessed and the daily struggle of the people she encountered just to exist and survive, especially the children. Access to clean water and sanitary facilities especially toilets was a challenge for the people - it really was a meagre hand to mouth existence for many. How lucky are we!

In line with our Green Tourism philosophy, Seaview has sponsored two toilets through the Toilet Twinning charity - one in Afganistan and one in Nepal (the photo is the loo in Nepal displayed in our bedroom Erraid's shower room)and hope our contribution goes a little way to helping provide life's basic essentials to some of the world's poorest people.

Forgo your chocolate Easter egg this year and sponsor a loo instead - calorie free ;-)

Many thanks to Sarah at The Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum for her inspiration.

Storm Desmond shoogled south of us yesterday and passed us by thankfully so both dog walks today were dry which is quite an achievement after the rain these past few weeks. The wind remains an ever present companion but I managed to catch the sun starting to set over the south end of Iona Sound at 3 pm yesterday afternoon.

The stone has remained wet for most of this summer - where has the sun gone, the summer is nearly over and we are still waiting! Has the weather been unseasonable for you too this year?
