These luscious pictures of food on my FB feed are examples of my answer to the perennial question:

"Well, what do you eat if you're allergic to X,Y and Z?!"

My answer is always, " I eat everything! Just not the things I'm allergic to."

The world of food is large - and making good looking, delicious food that's safe for you is a reminder of all thing yum things you can eat.

My beautiful steak salad lunch just now. Steak was on sale Whole Foods Market, so I fried a 3-ounce one up, while I put some baby organic arugula with fresh lemon juice, EVOO, plus Kosher salt in a bowl. I cooked the steak for a few minutes on each side then removed from heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Sliced and plated et voila - lunch!

Have a middle schooler with food allergies that has trouble expressing their emotional life.? This movie (at least the The New York Times review) sounds like it might be an interesting way in, at least to begin a conversation.  Review: Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ Finds the Joy in Sadness, and Vice Versa http://nyti.ms/1Guks0O
Pete Docter’s new animated film, with the voices of television comedians like Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader, brings to life an 11-year-old’s interior drama.

What It's Really Like to Cook on a Food Stamp Budget — Food Matters The Kitchn http://bit.ly/1RzNUFK > Excellent article. Further point: how are medically restricted diet adults, children and families coping on SNAP programs?
In 2013, 49.1 million Americans lived in households struggling with hunger, a stark number which includes 15.8 million children and 4.8 million seniors. Food insecurity is a daily reality for about one in seven households. So why do we only seem to talk passionately about it when a celebrity is involved? If you paid any attention to the recent controversy surrounding Gwyneth Paltrow's $29 SNAP grocery shopping challenge, you know what I mean. Whe...
