I LEARNED THIS FROM ADDING A "CHEAT DAY"
There’s really only a couple things I’ve ever discovered that actually have a major (and quick) impact on my body.
The first is the “cheat day”.
Basically this is my “eat whatever the hell I want day”. Pizza. Pie. Cookies. Ice Cream. Burgers. WHATEVER I WANT and as much as I want.
I always used to be the super strict guy.
They call this “clean” eating and I can eat “clean” with the best of them.
I’d literally “freak-out” if anything like a fry or any type of dessert touched my mouth.
I’d feel guilty.
Ever felt like that?
After all, those things are sooooooooooooo bad for you.
I wasn’t really satisfied with my body. I mean. You know that frustrated feeling you get when you look in the mirror. You look pretty good. But not great.
Eating clean is what you’re supposed to do though so I just did it. It’s healthy after all….
But when it becomes problematic is in people who are really hard trainers. Lift weights and cardio on a daily basis. So many of these people are not getting any significant muscle gains and “hardening” of the midsection simply because they are eating obsessively clean while over-training.
If you look “soft” or “skinny fat” this is the prime culprit.
It’s basically depriving the body of the substance it needs to adequately repair itself.
I was like this. I thought the answer was to work harder and eat cleaner but it was a perpetuating cycle. I’d just get more and more worn out and eventually have to take several days off from the gym.
Not sure exactly how I stumbled upon it, but somehow I learned of this concept of a “cheat” meal while looking for answers.
I know I picked it up from someone who was “ripped”. They claimed their goal was to eat an entire pack a “Krispy Kreme” donuts on their day off. The guy was shredded. And for me it was a hard pill to swallow. (Think the guy’s screen name is TimberWolf or something like that.)
I tried it though.
I think I ate a few slices of pizza or something on a Sunday and came back Monday and felt great. Not only that, I also noticed that my body had seemed to “tighten up” over night.
It was a pretty radical experience!
I guess it slowly went from a cheat meal and BALLOONED into a complete cheat day. Basically a day that is my day. A day after a long week of training that I eat whatever I want in whatever quantity.
It is euphoric on my mind and I’m convinced it works wonders for my body as well.
Don’t ask me to pull the science on it.
But I never would have believed I could go to bed on a full stomach of carbs and wake up looking super tight. This is what happens for me though. Don’t take my word for it.
If you are an obsessive “over-trainer” and clean eater not getting the results you want, this is something you could find beneficial beyond your wildest dreams.
It’s one of the very few things in my life that actually has a significant and rapid impact on the tightening of my body. I’m also convinced it allows my body to release much more fat.
