General Help  -

How do I make my "ABOUT" page the default page of my Google + Listing.

When someone clicks on my Google Plus page, either from the organic results, or the Google Places listing, they taken to my  "POSTS" page by default. How can I switch that so they are taken to my "ABOUT" page by default? I see other people have it set to their ABOUT page, or even their YOUTUBE page, but I see now where in the administrative settings to specify this.

PLEASE HELP!!!

+Mike Ford I don't know of a way to change this. It will default to YouTube if a person isn't active on Google+ but is on YouTube. If you click a profile from a local review, it will default to the Reviews tab.

If this is something you'd like the ability to change, I encourage you to submit feedback using the link at the bottom of the navigation menu on the left.

How much money should I spend on online marketing?

Once you've determined what off-line programs are effective you should definitely get a check up on your website. Is it up to date? Is all the available information correct? Have I added all that I can about my business? Does it meet search engine compliance?

Secondly, ask yourself, do people use a search engine to find your business? For example if a customer is looking for a roofing company, will they use a search engine to find you? In this case, this is a definite yes! In this case you should try a paid search marketing campaign.

According to studies by the Small Business Administration (SBA), the average small business spends 7-10% of their gross revenues on marketing. We suggest that you work with a budget on the lower end of this range and work your way up as you see what works. The good news is that with our many online programs, you’ll always be able to call our support department and helpful friendly people will go over your progress. All of our programs are month-to-month, so we’ll be working on your behalf to keep your business. Keep in mind that changes are always free. We’ll change and modify your online marketing campaigns at any time with unlimited changes and the same applies to your business website.

How too many back-links suspend your Google account

This Is Greatly Frowned Upon

What they did MOST LIKELY is go t a link farm and purchase a bunch of links from all over the internet

Link farms are mostly corrupt, and seen as black hat by Google because you are not creating valid worthy links...but rather paying big directories to hide a link to your site somewhere on their site, for a price, to trick Google into thinking you have a ton of people wanting to link to you

Link farms get busted all the time & when they do, they take down all their clients with them

There are no short-cuts.

How do I Use the Google AdWords Preview Tool Performance Media Placement
We are frequently asked by our clients to determine why they can’t see themselves positioned on the Google
search results page. This can happen when you frequently search to determine your position using a standard browser (see explanation below).

GOOGLE'S AD DELIVERY ALGORITHM

Google’s search algorithms now adapt to each individual user’s activity. If you search to see your online ads over and over, without clicking on the ads, Google will show you different ads, since the ads you viewed multiple times did not produce any results (clicks). If you click your ads more than once, Google will determine this to be click fraud and won’t show these ads to you any more, or they will display the ads on successive pages. In both cases, checking your ads by viewing or viewing and clicking in a standard search results page, will result in displays that are not truly what the average user sees. You will not see an accurate representation of your ad position. This will also have a side effect of reducing your ads quality scores and consequently lowering the position of your ads on the page. Please DO NOT view your ads without using the Google Ad Preview Tool.

How to Check for Negative Information Online?

Most of all the negative information posted online against small businesses comes from past employees or competitors. This is an extremely common problem; you’re not alone. It gets worse as you grow bigger and have a larger base of employees. This information can cause you great harm and you should be aware of it. Today 94% of your potential new customers begin their search with a search engine. During the search process any negative information could quickly dissuade them from contacting your business.

It’s very common for a prospective new customer to do a cursory glance to see if there is any negative information on your company before they begin a business relationship with you. A quick way to check is first just put your company name in Google. Look for any negative comments. If you still don’t see any negative comments, try the following queries in Google. Users often make the query Company Name and Scam, Fraud or Ripoff. The user of the double quotes around your company name assures that Google will only search for your full company name and not one or more of the words making up your name.

What should I do about my current off-line advertising?

According to the eMarketer study above, most SMB’s are still heavily relying on traditional methods including word-of-mouth marketing, 70% said they used in-person networking and 50% use customer referral rewards. We encourage you to evaluate all of your current off-line marketing and advertising. For most small businesses, marketing leads arrive via the telephone. We encourage you to spend time training your people to be effective when speaking to customers, judiciously use your answering machine and if you can’t return a call within 5 minutes, seriously consider using an answering service. A recent MIT study found that if a lead is not responded to within 5 minutes, the probability of closing it falls by 22 times.

Great prices, as described products! They even call your vet if your medicine requires a prescription. I've happily recommended Allivet to multiple friends.
